Labyrinth Walk - Dec 31, 5 PM to 7 PM

Found walking this week:

Labyrinth Walk - Dec 31, 5 PM to 7 PM

Via wikipedia:
"In English, the term labyrinth is generally synonymous with maze. As a result of the long history of unicursal representation of the mythological Labyrinth, however, many contemporary scholars and enthusiasts observe a distinction between the two. In this specialized usage maze refers to a complex branching multicursal puzzle with choices of path and direction, while a unicursal labyrinth has only a single path to the center. A labyrinth in this sense has an unambiguous route to the center and back and is not difficult to navigate.[5][6][7][8]
Unicursal labyrinths appeared as designs on pottery or basketry, as body art, and in etchings on walls of caves or churches. The Romans created many primarily decorative unicursal designs on walls and floors in tile or mosaic. Many labyrinths set in floors or on the ground are large enough that the path can be walked. Unicursal patterns have been used historically both in group ritual and for private meditation, and are increasingly found for therapeutic use in hospitals and hospices."

Tips to celebrating New Year's Eve safely

From the MA Gov blog we find tips on celebrating New Year's Eve safely:
From all-day festivals in Pioneer Valley to breathtaking firework displays on the Charles River, New Year’s Eve is an exciting and fun holiday in Massachusetts. Friends and family gather to mark the turning of the calendar in one of the most festive celebrations of the holiday season in the Commonwealth.
While communities come together to kick-start 2015, it’s important to stay safe while celebrating. The Highway Safety Division (HSD) and the Department of Fire Services (DFS) of Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) provide tips and resources to make sure you and your family safely ring in 2015.

Happy New Year - welcome 2014!

2014 is upon us. 2013 is no longer. What did we learn to help us prepare?

There are changes taking place all the time. Some are more obvious than others. Artistry Kitchen is continuing their preparations to open downtown.

Artistry Kitchens
The commuters from the Franklin/Dean College station would have noticed that the coffee shop operated by the Cake Bar has closed.

coffee shop at Depot Station has closed; The Cake Bar remains open on East Central St

The challenges around us can be better met with coordination, collaboration and communication.

This will be the only post today. Enjoy the time with your family and friends.

If you really need something to read you dig into the archives. for example, pick a day, any day and then see what was posted on that date in 2013. Then go to the same date in 2012, and so forth back to 2008.
