We're excited to share that this year's Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run will have finisher's medals for the first time ever!

Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Citizens Bank, we'll be able to make the same large charitable impact this event is known for, while also awarding every runner and walker with this custom-designed medal at the finish line!

Featuring a 3D-modeled image of the bridge and the Newport Pell Bridge 50th Anniversary logo, the medals hang from a silky, sublimated ribbon.

Save the Date! - 9th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk - Sep 28

9th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk
Sponsored by St. Mary’s St. Vincent de Paul Society
September 28, 2019
8:30 AM - 11:00 AM

With September comes the end of Summer, the first day of school and the SVdP Friends of the Poor Walk. The Walk, 1 ½ or 3 miles, is our only fund raiser. SVdP members offer help to all Franklin residents in their time of need. Your support enables us to provide this assistance. Last year we were able to help 186 families.

Registration will begin between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM in the St. Mary’s Center parking lot on Pleasant Street and then the walk will begin there at 9:00 AM rain or shine. Please walk with us in fellowship and contribute to our drive with generosity. To make this Walk better than ever, go to www.fopwalk.org where you can either join the Walk or make a donation.

Join together, with family and friends
to make our Walk better than ever!

From the archives, a winter walk in February of 2014 can help bring about some cool thoughts for another hot day.

What has changed since Feb 2014? or not?

Good Friday ‘Cross Walk’ is scheduled on the Franklin Town Common

Friday, April 19- 12:00-1:00 pm

St Mary’s teens and families will host its annual ‘Cross Walk’ procession on the Franklin Town Common beginning at Noon on Good Friday. Christians of all denominations and ages are welcome.

Participants will gather on the Church Square end of the common. Together, they will process through and around the Franklin Town Common and back to St Mary's lawn, pausing along the way to reflect on Jesus’ great love for us.

Teens from St Mary’s parish will read reflections and prayers at each stop. Anyone who wishes to may help share the burden of carrying the heavy cross during the procession.

All area residents and our families and friends from surrounding communities are encouraged to take part in this meaningful procession on Good Friday to remember Christ's Passion.
