"Exploring The Wines Of Copper Cane" - Nov 9

Exploring The Wines Of Copper Cane
Saturday November 9, 6-8PM
Host: Sophie Daniels

A Sit down wine tasting/educational event held in the Franklin Liquors wine room.
RSVP $5 Event Fee

Joseph Wagner is a fifth generation Napa Valley winemaker with a dedicated passion for the business. Joe’s roots in the winemaking began at an early age. His family founded Caymus Vineyards in Napa Valley.

In 2001 at age nineteen, he rolled up his sleeves and has yet to look back. His passion and natural talent for winemaking quickly became apparent after he started his own award-winning single vineyard Pinot Noir label, Belle Glos.

In January 2014, Joe formed Copper Cane Wine & Provisions, with the goal of focusing on innovations that have always captured his interest, and to find new ways to offer the highest quality products that satisfy consumers’ appetites for genuine craftsmanship.

We will explore sparkling, Pinot Noirs, Blends And Cabernet Sauvignon

About Sophie
With a passion for food and wine, Miss Daniels found herself drawn to the beauty and bounty of food and wine at an early age. What began as cooking for friends and family at the age of 7 eventually progressed into working for fine dinning establishments and highly regarded catering companies in Boston in the early nineteen nineties.

Attracted more and more to the art of superb wine and food pairings, Sophie was given the opportunity to focus on wine sales while working for a prominent Massachusetts distributor in 2001.

Beginning in 2004 and up until today, Sophie Daniels has had the unique opportunity to explore the world, expanding her wine horizons, while representing domestic and imported wineries from a dozen different countries.

Today, more passionate than ever, she now travels throughout New England as the Regional Sales Manager for Copper Cane Wine & Provisions, educating consumers, motivating sales people and sharing her love of great food and wine with consumers through lectures, trade tastings and wine dinners.

Exploring Small CA Wineries - Oct 24

A Sit down wine tasting/education held in the Franklin Liquors wine room.
We will explore three small CA wineries.

The Wineries
Mountain View
From its inception in 1978, Mountain View has produced wines of superior quality. “Mom & Pop” vineyards are chosen from various regions throughout California that offer strong varietal character. Exceptional weather/climate/soil conditions set the stage for our terroir driven Amador County Zinfandel and Pinot Noir from Santa Maria Valley.

Ty Caton
20 years ago Ty Caton partnered with his parents to develop a 108 acre property in the renowned Mayacamas Mountain Range. Located adjacent to some world class vineyards and with an array of various soils, elevations, and sun exposures, it is a prime location for grape growing and now has its own prestigious appellation ~ Moon Mountain District. Only 40 acres of this certified sustainably farmed vineyard are planted to grapes. Ty learned to make wine from his friends, neighbors and practice. He strives for excellence and is an exceptional blender.

Fitch Mountain
Fitch Mountain Cellars started with 1 barrel made in a garage by Mike Duffy, a UC Davis Grad, Trefethen intern, and personal friend of wine guru Andre Tchelistcheff in 1984. Still handcrafted, our Merlot comes from a tiny, 4th generation vineyard in Dry Creek. Reminiscent of the breakout style in the ’80’s, this velvety wine has layers of complexity.

About Judy Lebel
In 2010, Judy Lebel realized the best way to fulfill her passion for enjoying fine wine and great food with interesting people was to go out on her own. Best Year Ever Wine Agency specializes in small production, earth friendly, family wineries. She was trained by many of California’s winery founders and later worked for the Robert Mondavi and Beringer/Raymond families.

$5 Seating Fee AND RSVP Required

Candidate Night
w/ Franklin Town Election Candidates
Thursday, October 10
6:30 - 7:30 PM
"Every Election is determined by those who show up"
-Larry J. Sabato,
"The Pendulum Swing"

No matter which party you support or how you feel about those currently serving in office, there is one thing none of us can ignore: our vote matters.  Elected Town Officials are focused on our town whether its keeping the peace, protecting the citizens, or being catalyst for improvements. They are also the people who can help us when we are dealing with town ordinances because of work or personal reasons.  The people elected in the November election will vote on issues that affect you.  How do you figure out who has your same intentions in mind?

For us, the best way to understand the candidates is to get out and meet them! Tomorrow night (don't worry we'll have you home in plenty of time for the game) we are welcoming over 15 of the candidates for Franklin residents to get to mingle in an informal gathering at the store. Get to know them and let them get to know you!

We will also be providing a wine tasting and light snacks.

Small print: Gathering is free. Dog-friendly, as always. 21+ for humans. Dogs can be younger.

Thank you for trusting us with your beverage business. Please share this email with friends who are interested in delicious wine, beer, and spirits. (Keeping all the good stuff for yourself is bad karma.)

Cheers!

Wine and Cheese - Sep 14 at THE BLACK BOX

THE BLACK BOX, the Metro-West region’s premier theater, music, and event venue, will present “Wine and Cheese,” an evening featuring a delicious wine tasting paired with the cheesiest songs ever written on Saturday, Sep 14, 2019.

Wine and Cheese” will star La Cantina Winery, Smith Cheeses, and Franklin Performing Arts Company entertainers led by host Nick Paone.  Admission includes a wine tasting, cheese and charcuterie, sweets, and entertainment. Wine and Cheese - Sep 14
Wine and Cheese - Sep 14
Since its inception, La Cantina Winery has become the premier location for learning the process of winemaking.  From grapes, to barrel, to bottle, they are committed to the educational and fun process of making wine. Smith’s Cheeses combines old fashioned family traditions and hard work  to produce their Farmstead Cheeses. They also have a commitment to reduce their carbon footprint: their grid-tied photovoltaic solar system offsets over 70% of their hot water and 30% of their electrical usage costs by using the energy of the sun.

Singing the cheesiest songs ever written will be performers from the Franklin Performing Arts Company. Audiences will enjoy being led through these “classic” songs by host Nick Paone.

THE BLACK BOX is located at 15 W. Central St. in downtown Franklin, MA. For tickets and more information visit www.THEBLACKBOXonline.com or call the box office at 508-528-3370. Follow THE BLACK BOX on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for more updates.
