A Medfield teenager missing since Monday was found safe Thursday morning in Rhode Island.
The Franklin High School Class of 1993 will hold its 20th reunion at CBS Scene in Patriots Place on Saturday, Oct. 12th at 7 p.m. in the lower level.
Novaya Real Estate Ventures, a real estate investment firm based in Woburn, Mass. has purchased two industrial buildings in Franklin, Mass from TA Associates.
Novaya declined to disclose the terms. The building at 176 Grove St., a 169,968-square-foot warehouse, was purchased for $7.27 million and the second property, a 59,970-square-foot distribution facility at 130 Constitution Boulevard, sold for $3.87 million, according to the Norfolk Registry of Deeds.Read the rest of the article here
Brittany, who attends Tri-County Regional Vocational High School in Franklin, is developmentally delayed and police say they have reason to believe she is in danger.
When last seen, Brittany was wearing a red sleeveless shirt, blue jeans, and flip flops. She has braces on her teeth and typically wears her sunglasses on her head. Brittany is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 140 pounds, police said.
The man she was seen leaving with had on a "Sons of Anarchy" T-shirt and has slicked back hair. He is described as white and heavy-set, police said.
Semerjian recommended a five-day suspension, which includes two days that were put aside from the restaurant’s first violation in July 2012. Typically, he noted, second offenders receive a three-day suspension with two put on hold for two years unless there is another incident.
The restaurant requested a lighter sentence, however, saying the suspension hurts business. Since June, Brazilian said, Cheng has spent about $20,000 on preventing further violations, such as purchasing an electronic ID scanner.\
Councilors commended those efforts. But the stiffer penalty, they all agreed, should stand.

National Grid, the town’s primary electricity provider, still has to perform some final safety and security checks, he said.
The town will purchase the energy generated by the farm at a reduced rate.
Kearsarge will begin work on the remaining 3 megawatts in the next 60 days. The complete farm will power about 70 percent of the town’s municipal and school buildings, according to Town Administrator Jeffrey Nutting.

When the commission moved into its current museum on West Central Street three years ago, the South Franklin Congregational Meeting House no longer had a use and now stands perpetually empty.
Recently, commissioners have been discussing with town officials potential uses for the old church — such as leasing or selling it — but have hit hurdle after hurdle.
While the town has maintained the more than 150-year-old building to a certain extent, it will still require an extensive amount of work before it can be sold or repurposed, according to Town Administrator Jeffrey Nutting.

CITIZEN COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Citizen Committee was created by the Town Council to allow for participation by the citizens to provide valuable input in critical areas; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Committee has expressed concern with the current condition of the Downtown train station where the train station is a gateway to our community.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town Council of the Town of Franklin requests the Citizen Committee and Town Administrator investigate what steps are needed to ensure that the station and the surrounding parking lot are kept in good repair.
This resolution shall become effective according to the provisions of the Town of Franklin Home Rule Charter.

Upon graduating from the U.S. Military Academy in 2017, Clay Shropshire will take on an immense responsibility.
The Franklin Public Schools String School of Franklin Repertory Orchestra would like to invite string players from Franklin and the surrounding communities to audition for the 2013 - 2014 school year.
Orchestra auditions will take place at Franklin High School, 218 Oak St., on Thursday, Sept. 12.

At the Franklin Food Pantry, Director of Development Erin Lynch said the pantry distributed 186,000 pounds of food in its most recent fiscal year, up 24 percent from the prior fiscal year. Lynch, like other pantry leaders, noticed many clients have jobs but are still unable to afford food amid rising costs of living and inadequate pay.
"I think it takes along time for families to feel the impact, even if the economy is getting better" Lynch said. "We really haven’t seen evidence on our end yet (of improvements)."
Lynch said the pantry hopes in the next year to work with other community groups to better understand what causes food insecurity and how to improve the situation without just distributing more and more food. Agriculture officials and apple growers said this week that they are looking forward to a blockbuster fall and said customers have already been streaming in to pluck the season’s first apples off the trees.
