Members of the U.S. Naval Landing Party, a Civil War reenactment crew, will exhibit a modified version of their living exhibit on the front lawn of the museum, with tents, bunks, uniforms and daily necessities of the soldiers from this historic time period.
Students, educators, history buffs, children and folks of all ages have a great opportunity to speak with the Civil War 'soldiers' and the event certainly will be enjoyed by all.

Drink Pink for the Cure!
Tickets Now Available!

We host events and fundraisers all year long because we love the chance to connect with our community. All our events are special, but some are a little more special.

This is one of those. On Saturday, June 7th from 4-7 PM, we'll be hosting our second annual Drink Pink for the Cure, combining our passion for rose wine with our compassion for friends and neighbors struggling with cancer.

This event supports Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Raffle Prizes, food donated by Whole Foods Bellingham, Pink cocktails courtesy of Corey Bunnewith, Music by Ken Barney, and-of course!-lots of delicious rose wine.

Tickets are just $15, and are a 100% donation to ACS. The first 200 sold receive a Drink Pink T-shirt! Pour Richard's will also be donating a percentage of our profits from sales.

This event would not be possible without the support of our wonderful suppliers. And we know that we can depend on our wonderful, generous customers to contribute.

Please take a few minutes to click on the link below to purchase your tickets. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Franklin Public Schools: Memorial Day Weekend Update

A message from FRANKLIN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

"Heroism is latent in every human soul- However humble or unknown, they, (veterans) have renounced what are accounted pleasures and cheerfully undertaken all self-denials, privations, toils, dangers sufferings, sicknesses, mutilations, life-"

Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain
Civil War Hero at Gettysburg and President Bowdoin College

As Memorial Day approaches, please take a moment to thank the men and women who have served our country. We are indebted to them for their service and commitment. When you are gathering with family and friends this weekend please keep them in your thoughts and reflections.

Say Goodbye to Franklin HighAs we move to the close of the school year, we are preparing to move into the new FHS. To relive memories many members of the community have requested a final tour of Franklin High School. The HS will be open for tours on June 21 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please stop by if you want to say a farewell to FHS.

Fundraising CautionWe were approached by one of our local business owners who let us know that an individual was seeking donations on behalf of our schools. The business owner contacted our office and be advised that this solicitation is fraudulent. The school department filed a complaint with the Police and they are investigating. Please do not respond to any requests to donate money on behalf of our schools. Thank You.

LEGISLATIVE ALERT

Ask Your State Senator to Support Our
National Heritage Areas
Please use the link below to send your Massachusetts state Senator this message as soon as possible.

Congress established the John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor in 1986 to restore and preserve the nationally significant heritage of the Blackstone River Valley, where the industrialization of America began.

The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, Inc. has created a successful program of partnerships between federal, state and local government agencies, as well as nongovernment organizations, pooling their resources and pursuing a common agenda of preservation and revitalization.

You may have participated in some of our programs. Maybe you attended one of our Ranger Walkabouts or participated in the Greenway Challenge or helped with a river cleanup.
Ultimately, your help and support will help us to secure the necessary funding to continue our work in the Blackstone River Valley.
Senator Moore proposed the following amendment to include the National Heritage Areas in the Massachusetts state budget:
Please contact your state Senator in support of the National Heritage Areas. Let them know the Blackstone Heritage Corridor, Inc. should continue its presence in the Blackstone River Valley, bringing you the programs and projects you value and enjoy.
