Sch Com invites public comment on the policy (audio)
Part 2 of the discussion: the Franklin School Committee - invited public comment on the proposed policy for gifts.
The policy will come up for a vote by the Committee likely at their next meeting.
It seems they are "open" to comments from the public but have no intention of even considering these comments in their decision making process. All public comments on TV last night suggest this is a BAD policy - but it appears everyone on the committee is in favor of voting it in despite public opinion. It seems they even tried to pull a fast one and vote without following proper protocol. And yet as the meeting continued Mr. Ogden stated the schools are in bad financial shape and teachers will be laid off. Makes no sense turn away donations then say we don't have enough money for the schools.
