FHS field hockey & volleyball teams post wins on Monday

Girls Soccer = Franklin, 1 @ Bishop Feehan, 4 – Final

Volleyball = Mansfield, 1 @ Franklin, 3 – Final

– Mansfield kept the match alive with a win in the third set but Franklin bounced back to win the fourth and the match, 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16). The Panthers had a strong defensive showing highlighted by 20 digs from Emerson Delleo (eight kills), 16 digs from Makayla Kuykendall (14 kills, three aces), and 12 digs from Faith Edgehille. Brooke Daniels ran the show offensively for the hosts with 33 assists. Mansfield’s Olivia Richard and Riley Austin each landed eight kills, Gabrielle Moore registered 15 digs, and Tessa Blacquier had 20 assists for the Hornets

Field Hockey = Mansfield, 0 @ Franklin, 7 – Final

– Franklin broke the scoreless deadlock with less than a minute to go in the first half and then erupted for six strikes in the third quarter in what turned out to be a big win over Mansfield. Haley Wernig got the Panthers on the board at 14:20 of the second quarter off an assist from Marzullo to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break. Marzullo added the first two goals of the second half inside the first four minutes while Cayden Canavan, Raena Crandall, Jossie Camp, and Maddie O’Brien each scored once over the next 10 minutes. Mansfield goalie Sakina Krieche made 22 saves in the cage while Annalise Bilodeau and Riley Mattson both played well defensively for the Hornets.

Golf = Franklin @ King Philip – Postponed to Tuesday, 10/8 at 3:00
