FHS baseball falls to North Quincy in 8 innings

Franklin, 2 @ North Quincy, 3 – Final (8 inn.) 

– Franklin twice erased a one-run deficit to tie the game but North Quincy pulled out a walk-off win in extra innings. The host Raiders took the lead with the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth but the Panthers roared right back as senior Cole Sidwell dropped an RBI single into left field to plate pinch runner Jack McCahill, who was running for Drake McAlpine (leadoff single). North Quincy regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a sac fly but the Panthers drew four straight walks to open the sixth, McAlpine’s bases loaded walk scoring Zach Winer, but the Panthers were unable to produce any more runs. DJ Silverstein tossed seven innings for Franklin, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits, three walks, and four strikeouts.

	Dear Franklin UMC members and friends, There are a few things quickly coming up that I wanted to make sure you didn't miss. First, there is a Community Concert tomorrow, April 26, at 7p in the sanctuary featuring Michael Rivelis. Michael will be playing classic rock and folk hits. Second, we are starting a new worship series this Sunday where we will discuss what it means to live our faith in this time. This series is based off of one of my favorite (secular) leadership books, Who Do We Choose to Be? Facing Reality, Claiming Leadership, Restoring Sanity (Oakland, CA: Berrett-Koehler, 2023) by Margaret J. Wheatley. For anyone interested in reading the book, Who Do We Choose to Be? by Margaret Wheatley, and discussing it, we will gather on Wednesday evenings (via Google Meet) to go through each chapter. I am going to try to have a discussion guide for each week. Everyone is invited to participate. Franklin Line Schedule Changes for April 26 & April 27 Weekend

On Saturday April 26 through Sunday April 27, the Franklin/Foxboro Line will operate on an adjusted schedule with more service to Hyde Park, Ruggles, and Back Bay to accommodate track improvement work.

Girls Lacrosse = Franklin, 18 @ Weymouth, 10 – Final 

– Franklin tied a season-high with 18 goals and returned home with a big non-league win over Weymouth. Senior Sophia Sacchetti dominated on the draw with 13 wins to help set the tone for the Panthers, adding two goals and four assists. Izzy Cross scored a team-high six goals and had four assists for a 10-point performance while both Clara Blongastainer (two assists) and Vera Hansen each netted a hat trick. Gabi Consigli and Julia Flynn (six draw controls) both tallied twice with one assist. Morgan Lovell helped anchor the Franklin defense with five caused turnovers and also grabbed four controls while Maisie Streesman made seven saves in the win.
