Hours Calendar Museum Passes Book Sale ESOL   The Library is Now Open on Sundays We're welcoming back Sundays from September through May! From 1:30 - 5pm, come on in to drop off your books, pick up your holds, meet up with a friend, or grab a study room. We'll be here!

Special Events for Kids Slime Time Fri, October 9 @ 1pm It's a school half-day, so gloop and glop your way to the library for this slime spectactular! Witch Academy Sat, October 10 @ 1pm Come to the witch academy and learn to tap into your magic, cast spells, stir up some potions, and more! DIY Paper Squishy Pals Thu, October 15 @ 6pm Design and create your very own squishy with Ms. Kaitlyn! Trunk or Treat! Sat, October 24 @ 10:30am Dress up and join us in the library parking lot for a safe, little-kid friendly morning of trick-or-treating! The parking lot will be full of decorated trunks and activities. Interactive Movie Wed, October 28 @ 5pm Come on in for a special interactive movie screening. We'll bring the popcorn and some fun surprises! A Not So Scary Halloween Party Sat, October 31 @ 10:30am Treats, games, and music, oh my! Enjoy a spooky celebration for all ages. Costumes encouraged! Weekly & Monthly Children's Programs  Move Along, Mondays @ 10:30am (Ages 0-5) This thirty-minute program features music, movement, stories, and other interactive activities to encourage social skills and promote early literacy. Doggie Tales! Mondays @ 4pm Registration Required Kiddos who are working on their reading skills will be able to sign up for a time slot to practice reading to a trained therapy dog. Bring your favorite book or read one of ours! Cool Cruisers, Tuesdays @ 9:30am Babies who have graduated from tummy time and are scooting all over the place are welcome to this playgroup just for them! Join us for a special playgroup just for this exciting time. Pre-K Pals, Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 10:30am (Ages 3-5) This 30-minute program is a perfect jumpstart for kiddos that are approaching school-age! Stories, music, movement, and engaging activities designed to prepare kids for a school environment. Wiggle Worms, Tuesdays @ 4pm (Ages 0-5) Beat the afternoon witching hour craziness with a dynamic program for littles! Enjoy music, movement, and some fun surprises. Mini Masterpieces, Tuesdays @ 4pm (Ages 6-12) Registration Required Join Miss Lily to create your very own mini masterpiece! Each week will feature a new, small scale, step-by-step watercolor project. All materials provided. Bubbles, Books, & Boogies, Wednesdays @ 10:30am (Ages 0-5) Dance, sing, clap, and play along for a story time party! Enjoy thirty minutes of interactive stories, songs, and activities. Bookworm Bounce, Wednesdays @ 4pm Join us for an afternoon storytime full of music, movement, stories, and other interactive activities to encourage social skills and promote early literacy. Girls Who Code, Wednesdays @ 4pm Registration Required This program is for all 3rd - 5th graders of any skill level to join supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world. Club members explore foundational computer science concepts and practice computational thinking skills through hands-on activities. Beginning October 14, we'll be meeting Wednesdays from 4 -5pm. Anyone–regardless of gender–who wishes to support diversity in technology is encouraged to join! Tummy Time, Thursdays @ 9:30am Nurture your baby’s development with gentle music, movement, and sensory play at the library. Please bring a small blanket or towel for your baby’s comfort. Tot Bop, Thursdays @ 4pm (Ages 3-5) Get ready to dance around to an energetic playlist in a class that offers littles a chance to play with musicality, coordination, and creativity - all while practicing listening and learning skills! Artsy Afternoons, Thursdays @ 4pm (Ages 6-11) Registration Required Join Ms. Kaitlyn for a step-by-step at project specifically for kids! All materials provided. Bubble Buddies, Fridays @ 10:30am (Ages 0-5) Enjoy a Friday bubble dance party with music, movement, and fun surprises! Weekend Wiggles, Saturdays @ 10:30am (Ages 0-5) Littles and their grownups are invited to an epic dance party to kick off the weekend! Get those wiggles out with fun music, exciting surprises, and plenty of joy and laughter. Special Events for Teens Diamond Art Party Fri, October 3 @ 1pm Registration Required Give your day some Sparkle & Zen... Enjoy a meditative diamond art project! All materials provided. For ages 11-18+. Ghost Stories of New England Tue, October 13 @ 6:30pm Explore local history through the lens of spirits and real unexplainable phenomena with a sprinkle of interactive fun! Rated PG-13 for spooky stories and descriptions of demise. Fanfiction Club Thu, October 22 @ 6pm Join us while we discuss our favorite fanfictions  and introduce each other to our favorite fandoms!  Weekly & Monthly Teen Programs D&D Club, Mondays @ 4pm Registration Required Anyone ages 10-17 is invited to join us for a weekly Dungeons and Dragons Club! D&D is one of the most complex tabletop games in history. The library will supply dice, rulebooks, and blank character sheets and we'll be using the 5th edition books and rules. Please email mgousie@minlib.net for registration information. • Dungeon Masters must be at least 12 years old and have experience with Dungeon and Dragons. • Dungeon Masters are required to choose a premade adventure, but homebrew additions to the adventure are allowed. • Players and Dungeon Masters are required to be respectful, kind, and attentive to each other. • Established groups of players with a Dungeon Master are welcome to share our space! Teen Advisory Board, 2nd Wednesday of the Month @ 5pm Join us each month for Teen Advisory Board. The Teen Advisory Board is a GREAT opportunity to get involved here at the library! You'll help plan events and programs, create displays and decorate the teen space, and help drive decisions around the kinds of materials we bring to the YA collection, all while eating snacks and getting volunteer hours. It's a win-win-win! Teen Improv, 1st Thursday of the Month @ 6pm Join Miss Kaitlyn on the first Thursday of every month for an improv club designed for teens. Through games and group activities, you’ll build confidence, make new friends, and share plenty of laughs—no experience needed. Special Events for Adults Medicare for Seniors & Caregivers Sat, October 3 @ 2pm Medicare is a service and safety net many retired people rely upon, but it can be so hard to navigate. Meet SHINE! These trained experts will present on enrollment, parts, coverage, and available resources for extra help.  Watercolor Workshop Mon, October 5 @ 6pm Registration Required Start your week off right with this Monday watercolor class with local artist Sharon Carloni! Learn to Majhong Thu, October 15 @ 6pm Registration Required This intro to Mahjong session will introduce the suits, the rules, the card, and other basics of American Mahjong. Italian Folk Concert Sat, October 17 @ 2pm Celebrate the art and culture of Italy with a concert of folk music from artist Fabio Pirozzolo! Mahjong Meetup Tues, October 27 @ 6pm Join us for an evening of strategy, luck and fun! This is an opportunity for the novice to hone their skills and experienced players to share their knowledge. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along. Weekly & Monthly Adult Programs English Conversation Group, Tuesdays @ 6:30pm Looking for a casual, low-stress place to practice your English language skills? Join us on Tuesday evenings for a friendly group chat with your fellow English learners. Please note: this group is meant for folks who have a basic grasp of English and are looking for conversational practice, not very beginners. A tutor will be present to answer questions and help keep the conversation flowing, but the focus will not be on formal instruction. Table Top, Alternating Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 6pm Registration required (see below). No Experience Necessary. It's time to dust off your dice, grab a source book and role play your way through hijinks and horrors! Table Top is a monthly game of tabletop role playing games for adults. Enjoy a meditative diamond art project! All materials provided. Knitting Group, Fridays, 10am – 12pm Love to knit or crochet? Join our group of local fiber artists who will be meeting in the Friends of the Franklin Library Community Room! All skill levels are welcome. Craftalong for Adults, Saturday, October 10 @ 2pm Registration Required Get crafty at the library! Adults of all ages and craft ability levels are welcome to join us for this program. One Saturday each month, we'll complete a new DIY, creative craft. All supplies provided. This month: Tangerine Jack-O-Lanterns Painting for Adults, Saturday, October 17 @ 1pm Registration Required Are you feeling creative? Join Miss Lily and create a step-by-step painting of an owl! All materials will be provided.  From the Friends Fall Membership Drive Friends of the Franklin Library is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Franklin Public Library’s collections and programs. We are running our Fall 2026 Membership Drive in conjunction with National Friends of Libraries Week, October 18-24.
