FHS football posts win vs. Stoughton; field hockey earns tie on Saturday

Football = Franklin, 43 @ Stoughton, 6 – Final
1st Quarter: (F) Ethan Edmunds 22-yard pass to Christian Holmes, Owen Webster XP good.
2nd Quarter: (F) Owen Essam 3-yard rush, O. Webster XP good; (S) Aidan Moriarty 2-yard rush, XP blocked; (F) E. Edmunds 9-yard rush, O. Essam two-point conversion rush good; (F) E. Edmunds 34-yard to C. Holmes, O. Webster XP good.
3rd Quarter: (F) O. Essam 4-yard rush, O. Webster XP good; (F) O. Essam 2-yard rush, O. Webster XP good.
4th Quarter: No scoring.


Field hockey = Uxbridge, 2 @ Franklin, 2 – Final 
– Franklin twice rallied from one-goal deficits to earn an impressive draw against five-time defending state champion Uxbridge, which entered 7-0 having allowed just four goals all season. Senior Ella Marzullo answered Uxbridge’s opening goal with a penalty stroke in the second quarter, then struck again in the third off an assist from junior Penelope Brady after the Spartans had regained the lead. Junior Elise Ackerman made six saves in net, while senior Jossie Camp and sophomore Cade Taccini helped control the midfield. Franklin also stood tall late, with Camp, junior Clara Blongastainer, junior Sammy Feigen, and sophomore Rhian Schlitzer keeping Uxbridge off the board on four corners in the fourth quarter.
