Girls soccer = North Attleboro, 1 @ Franklin, 5 – Final
– Lily Strong scored twice and had an assist to lead Franklin to a dominant win over the visiting Rocketeers and clinch a second straight outright Kelley-Rex division title. The Panthers got off to a strong start and grabbed the lead in the 18th minute. Strong hoofed a high ball across the box, which the North defense struggled to clear. Claire Michel reacted first to the bouncing ball and beat her marker to knock the ball over the line. The score stayed the same until the final two minutes of the first half. Madison Griffith slide a perfect ball between the defenders and into the run of Strong in the right channel. The Fairfield-commit fired it into the far corner. Franklin added a third just three minutes into the second half. This time it was Hannah Griffith with the assist, curling a delightful pass in behind the North defense from the right wing. Strong made no mistake, sliding her shot past the keeper. In the 61st minute, Laila Rosen’s corner was driven to the back post where Emmalee Doyle squared it back across the box for BB Vallee to tap in. Six minutes later, Hannah Griffith slipped Rosen into space on the right side of the box and she ripped a shot in off the far post. North got one back with nearly the last kick of the match. Abigail Wholey’s pass forward sprung Ava Pratt, who rounded the keeper before finishing. Gracyn Cuzzi made eight saves to try and keep North in the game.
