Oh, to be a tiny ghoulie again.
by Pete Fasciano, Executive Director 10/26/2025
As nights of October
conclude the world over
the last of them, All Hallows Eve.
mini-ghoulies and ghosties
collecting their mosties
of candies and goodies received.
With neighbors indulging
wee tykes with bags bulging
from trick-or-treat running amok.
perfecting, collecting,
their candy protecting
while stoking their Halloween luck.
Candy calculus done,
just don't hesitate, run
to the next doorbell to yell,
"Trick or treat!".
And what do I see
leering right back at me?
a new ghostie in an old sheet.
A Halloween staple
for kids who are able
to cut out two eyes from the cloth.
Two minutes, and done
some will add to the fun
with black markers to amp up that goth.
House twenty, a tip-off
their 'Fun-size', a rip-off.
Why don't they have big candy bars?
House thirty, amazing
The kiddies all praising
Those 'King-size' from Hershey and Mars.
However, their siblings
and parental nibblings
all eat away at their largesse.
Our tiny tots thinking
"My treasure keeps shrinking,
and nobody wants to confess."
(Sigh!)
And – as always –
