Franklin Public Radio wfpr.fm schedule for Thursday, April 9, 2026

Yes, Franklin has it's own radio station -> wfpr.fmFranklin Public Radio has a brand new schedule for the locally produced shows that fill our air waves. 

It is available anywhere, anytime at wfpr.fm or in the local Franklin, MA area at 102.9 on the FM dial.

8:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 6:00 PM - Franklin Matters Radio – Steve Sherlock covering Franklin, its local government, services, and events  (Repeats Saturday at 3:00 PM)


9:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 7:00 PM - first hour
10:00 AM, 3:00 PM, and 8:00 PM - second hour

Turntable – "Enjoy a fun experience with co-hosts The Vibe and Pauly G sharing personal discussions about a featured rock n roll vinyl record (1st hour) and the best, all music Vibe Playlist (2nd hour)"  
  • This week the Turntable Show Album Hour features "Closer to Home" by Grand Funk Railroad (GFR) released June 15 1970.   "Closer to Home" is the third studio album by GFR.  
  • The Vibe Playlist Hour features Live GFR songs from the Bosnia live concert recording.  The concert was a benefit performance for the nation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was recorded live 20 April 1997 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan including guest performers Peter Frampton, Alto Reed, Paul Shaffer, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.  Turn it up and feel Grand Funk!

Producers Series: Talking with Vibe about music, public radio, and podcasting (audio)

FM #1700 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 1700 in the series. 


This session shares my conversation with David Butler, also known as “Vibe”. Vibe started with one show, Turntables (The Turntable Show), in conjunction with Pauly G, and now does a separate (podcast) show called “The Vibe”. You can listen to both at wfpr.fm or on Soundcloud. We had our discussion at the Franklin TV Studios on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Chris Flynn talks about video production sharing studio insights in this episode of our Producers Series (audio)

 FM #1257 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 1257 in the series. 

This session shares my conversation with Chris Flynn. Chris is a videographer and currently the Studio Manager for Franklin TV. We had our discussion at the Franklin TV Studios on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

 

We talk about 

  • Video editing tools, studio process, scheduling, etc.

  • Nonprofit operation and special effects, enhancing creativity

  • “Legend of Maul” one of his video projects  

  • COVID allowed the introduction of ‘live sports’ and the ‘studio in a box’

  • Multiple instances of live broadcast can happen with 3 YouTube channels; All Access, Education/Sports, and Government channels

  • MIAA relationship developing show content, including playoff bracket release

  • Broadcast of Thanksgiving football game from Fenway Park

  • Scheduling studio space, community meetings, and coordination with outdoor sports (weather dependent) 

  • Community meeting room getting busier with more regular us by local groups

  • If interested in video production, share what you have produced, to further the conversation

  • If interested in being part of your own show, we do have a fully functioning kitchen that works well for a cooking show

  • Record some number of shows on a given day, edit, and broadcast over a 2-week time slot

  • And last but not least, Chris’ backstory on how he got involved
