FHS girls hockey posts win on Saturday, girls swim take 1st in South Sectionals again

Via Twitter, Franklin TV, and our subscription to HockomockSports.com, we share the results of the Winter sports competition for Franklin High School on  Saturday, February 8, 2025

Girls Hockey = Mansfield/Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final
– Franklin scored once in each period to score a win at home over Mansfield/Oliver Ames, sweeping the season series against the Warriors. Senior Haley Wernig opened the scoring with a goal in the first period, assisted by Maddie O’Brien and Julia Flynn — who recorded her 100th career point in the process, just the seventh Panther in program history to hit the milestone. Eighth grader Olivia Heger converted on the power play off a feed from Hannah Auerr to double the lead and Flynn capped the scoring with a third period goal (from Wernig). Izzy Brown had the shutout in net for Franklin.
