– This win was a special one for Franklin head coach Zach Brown. Not only was it his 200th career win with the Panthers, but his son Jacoby was the winning pitcher after a stellar relief appearance and freshman Ethan Edmunds — son of Brown’s longtime assistant Brett Edmunds — delivered the game-winning hit to walk it off in the bottom of the 11th inning. Jacoby Brown came on in the top of the eighth and kept the visiting Raiders quiet, giving up just one hit — a leadoff double on the first pitch he threw — and didn’t issue a single walk to give the Panthers a chance to win. Edmunds, who was intentionally walked in the bottom of the ninth with the winning run on third, got a second chance in the bottom of the 11th. Senior Jack Sullivan reached on an error, senior Sean Kryzak (two hits, run) was hit by a pitch, and senior James Bruso reached on an infield single to load the bases. Edmunds first hit of the day brought the game-winning run home for the walk off win. Sophomores Cam Lambert (RBI) amd Patrick Luizzi (RBI, run) each had two hits while junior Owen Pennini drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers.

Softball = Franklin, 2 vs. Hopkinton, 0 – Final
– Franklin senior Sophia Sacramone dazzled in the circle in a complete game shutout effort to lead the Panthers to their biggest win of the season over D2 title contender Hopkinton. Sacramone scattered four walks in seven innings of work, striking out seven without issuing a walk. Scoreless through five innings, Sacramone helped her own cause with a clutch double in the bottom of the sixth to break the deadlock. Freshman Phoebe O’Connor (2-for-3) reached on an infield single and hustled all the way around the bases when Sacramone drove a double to right center field to make it 1-0. Senior Ava Florest (2-for-3) came through with another clutch hit with a two-out single to center to score Sacramone from second to make it 2-0. Senior Ella Weston also had a pair of hits for the Panthers in the win.

Baseball = Franklin, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final
– In a defensive battle, Franklin held on for a tight win on the road, stranding the tying and winning run on base in the bottom of the seventh. After a scoreless first two innings, the Panthers opened up the game in the third inning off of an error. Sean Kryzak got the Panthers on the board again in the fifth inning with a two-out, two-run double to left field, plating Jack Sullivan and Owen Pennini, who had back-to-back singles. North Attleboro was able to get some momentum going in the sixth inning with Marty Rogers and Jake Ronci both scoring. North threatened in the bottom of the seventh when Tommy Manning walked and Zach Breton was hit by a pitch, but Jacoby Brown induced a ground ball for the third out. Sullivan (three hits) and Owen Pennini (two hits, two runs) led the Panther’s offensive charge. Freshman Ethan Edmunds had a great first five innings on the mound for Franklin, only surrendering four hits and striking out nine.

Softball = North Attleboro, 3 @ Franklin, 9 – Final
– The Panthers jumped out to a lead right away with a four-run first inning and after North Attleboro cut into the deficit in the top of the third, answered with a three-spot in the bottom half to secure a win at home over the Rocketeers. Franklin’s patience at the plate in the bottom of the first turned into a 4-0 lead for the hosts. Sophomore Kate Juergens clubbed a double to score classmate Lindsey DeGirolamo (triple), and Molly Willey came through with a two-out single to plate Juergens to cut the deficit in half. But Franklin’s offense came back with a two-out rally, including a two-run double from Olivia Caruso (3-for-4, four RBI, run) and an RBI single from Sophia Sacramone to push the lead to 7-2. Caruso added an RBI single in the fifth and plated another run with a sac fly in the sixth to cap a strong day at the plate. Addi Weiss added two hits and scored two runs for Franklin. Sacramone earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, one walk, and three strikeouts; Abby Souza tossed two scoreless innings in relief without giving up a hit.

Baseball = Franklin, 7 @ Taunton, 8 – Final
– Taunton took a lead in the second inning against visiting Franklin and held on for the 8-7 win despite a Panther threat in the final inning. In the top of the first, Franklin exploded with four runs but Taunton answered with four runs of their own, highlighted by an Eddy Travers two-RBI single and a huge two-run triple from Aiden Twigg. After holding Franklin scoreless in the second inning, Joey Benoit’s solo home run put Taunton up by one — a lead they never let go of. Down by two in the seventh inning, Franklin loaded the bases with no outs but Angel Rodriguez came on and induced a ground ball for a double play. Franklin scored on the play and put the tying run on third but Rodriguez got a fly ball to Jeremy Knief in center to end it. Senior Jack Sullivan led the Panthers with three hits and an RBI, and sophomore Ethan Herndon added two hits including a triple. Corbin Melo and Benoit each had two hits apiece for the Tigers. Ryuji Fantasia (3IP, 5H, 2ER, 0BB, 1K) earned the win in relief and Rodriguez secured the save. Jacoby Brown pitched well in relief for Franklin, allowing one unearned run on one hit and no walks, striking out three in a pair of innings.

Softball = Franklin, 7 @ Taunton, 10 – Final
– Franklin plated seven runs in the top of the third inning to take a lead but Taunton responded with nine unanswered runs, including five in the fifth inning, to earn its third win of the season. Aniyah Bailey hit a home run to left to put the Tigers ahead in the bottom of the second but the Panthers’ offense roared to life in the top of the third. Sophia Sacramone drove in a run on a fielder’s choice, Ava Florest brought in one on a single up the middle, Olivia Ross drew a bases loaded walk to bring in another run, Amelia Rakitin was hit by a pitch to score another and Phoebe O’Connor cleared the bases with a two-out double to give the Panthers a 7-1 lead. Bailey smashed another home run, this time a two-run shot to center to help the Tigers chip away. An RBI single from Victoria Corrao in the bottom of the fourth cut the deficit to 7-4. In the bottom of the fifth, Mia Torres (walk), Bella Bourque (single), and Gracie Oliveira (single) all reached to load the bases and Ashlyn Hebert came through with a one-out triple to bring all three runs in to tie it at 7-7. Nevaeh Labreche followed with an RBI ground out to put Taunton back in front, Grace Simmons reached on an error that allowed one more run to score, and Corrao hit a line drive double to left to score the Tigers’ fifth run of the inning to make it 9-7. Bourque finished with three hits and two runs, while Oliveira, Corrao, and Kaylee Lopes each had two hits for the Tigers. Florest, O’Connor, and Addi Weiss each collected two hits for the Panthers.
