Franklin High School Theater Company presents "The Curious Case of the Cottingley Fairies" - May 22 - 23

via FHSTC

Have you ever seen a fairy before?

It’s official… Franklin High School Theater Company presents The Curious Case of the Cottingley Fairies directed by Riley MacDonald this May 22nd & 23rd!

Based on a true event, this play follows the story of two cousins, Lilli Barnes and Mabel Hallam, who supposedly captured photographs of fairies during the grim time of World War I. Their photos quickly took over the world, capturing the attentions of reporters, spiritualists, and professors everywhere.

Join us this May in the FHS Auditorium to watch as the imaginative world of these girls comes to life, as well as how quickly this crazy story of theirs spirals out of control.

Keep an eye out on all of our socials for more information regarding tickets and updates on the show!

Capital Campaign launched by FHS Theater Company Boosters & Franklin Music Boosters

Dear Franklin Community,

The performing arts in our schools have experienced reductions in staffing and programming over the years due to budget constraints. However, we believe this community, one that deeply values the arts, can help reverse that trend by revitalizing our facilities and creating a space where students can truly thrive.

The Franklin High School Theatre Company Boosters and Franklin Music Boosters are launching a joint Capital Campaign to enhance performing arts facilities and equipment. Every dollar raised will go directly toward providing Franklin Public Schools students with the tools they need to deliver high-quality theater and music productions with the projects listed below. In a community of more than 30,000 residents, even small contributions can add up to meaningful change.

The FMS Auditorium is a high-traffic hub for school assemblies, concerts, and community rentals. The Franklin Middle School Footlighters, our after-school theater club, is more than just a performance; ticket revenue helps sustain future productions and supports a long-standing tradition of student involvement in the arts. This year, the Footlighters were unable to offer their annual production, limiting students’ first opportunity to experience theater in our public schools.

Aging facilities and failing equipment remain a challenge, and without improvements, opportunities like this are at risk. With improved facilities, we can restore this opportunity and ensure it continues for future FMS students.

Your support will directly impact students’ access to meaningful arts experiences. This Capital Campaign aims to raise $100,000 by July 1st, 2026, to fund the following needs:

SAFE Coalition: Back to Life - Youth Theater Project Starting this April

Back to Life: Youth Theater Project Starting this April

SAFE Coalition: Back to Life - Youth Theater Project Starting this April
Back to Life - Youth Theater Project Starting this April
Date: Thursdays, April 2–May 7, 2026
Time: 3:00–5:00 p.m.
Location: SAFE Adolescent Wellness Center (Franklin)
Ages: 13–18

This spring, SAFE is partnering with Drug Story Theater to bring a powerful new program to the Adolescent Wellness Center.

Back to Life: Youth Theater Project is a free, 6-week theater program for teens ages 13–18. Starting April 2, participants will meet weekly to rehearse and perform an original play that tackles some of the hardest conversations facing young people today: substance use, fentanyl contamination, friendship, and asking for help.

Whether a teen wants to be center stage or help behind the scenes with lighting, sound, or set design, there's a place for them in this program. No theater experience is needed!

The series wraps up with a public performance on May 7, followed by a community talkback with Dr. Joseph Shrand, a nationally recognized expert in adolescent addiction. It's an opportunity for teens to not only express themselves creatively, but to become real educators in their communities, helping audiences understand overdose prevention and destigmatizing the use of Narcan.

If you know a teen who would benefit from this program, we'd love for you to share it with them. Registration is open now - https://www.safecoalitionma.org/get-support/youth-theater-project?blm_aid=465921

Back to Life: Youth Theater Project is made possible by the generous support of Mass Cultural Council, Lawson Charitable Foundation, and Community Health Systems Foundation.
