Boys Basketball = Sharon, 57 @ Franklin, 59 – Final (OT)
Franklin TV video available for replay - https://www.youtube.com/live/1h7Xo2FZIDc?&t=1618

– Franklin senior Justice Samuels grabbed a defensive rebound and went the length of the court for a layup with 15 seconds to go and the Panthers survived as Sharon’s potential game-winning three hit off the front end of the rim. Freshman Greg Katznelson scored down low to cut the deficit to two and junior Teigan Jones did the same with 20 seconds to go as the Eagles rallied to force the overtime period. Seniors Jack Sullivan, James Crowley, and Ben Scaccia all had a bucket in overtime and sophomore Danny Santos hit a huge three late — just the second triple of the game for the Panthers to make it 57-55. Jones answered down the other end in the paint to tie it up. Franklin flipped a two-point deficit at half (26-24) into a two-point lead going into the fourth, and despite only one field goal in the last eight minutes (9-for-12 from the free throw line) stayed in it. Samuels finished with a season-high 16 points to lead the Panthers while Scaccia had 14 and both Santos and Sullivan chipped in with 10 points. Katznelson scored a game-high 19 points and Jones finished with 12 points for the Eagles.

Girls Basketball =  Franklin, 63 @ Sharon, 38 – Final
– Franklin kept its streak going, winning its sixth straight game, and kept hold of its one-game lead in the Kelley-Rex division. The Panthers wasted no time taking control, scoring 20 points in the first quarter and building an 11-point lead. Tessah Rodrigues and Sophia Sacramone got off to good starts, combining for 13 in the first. Franklin kept it going in the second, as Brielle Nicholls scored five and Kaylee Fernandes added four and the Panthers added five more its halftime lead. The Panthers sealed the win with a 16-6 third quarter. Sharon would win the fourth by a point, thanks to eight points from Dharma Trivedi who out-dueled Fernandes (seven points) in the final eight minutes. Fernandes led Franklin with a game-high 15 points and Rodrigues added 14. Trivedi had four threes and scored a team-high 14. Freshman Lila McCarty added 13 points for the Eagles (going 9-of-12 from the line).

Both FHS girls and boys (video) basketball teams top Canton on Tuesday

Via Instagram, Franklin TV, and our subscription to HockomockSports.com, we share the results of the Winter sports competition for Franklin High School on Tuesday, January 20, 2026

Girls Basketball = Canton, 42 @ Franklin, 68 – Final

Boys Basketball = Franklin, 61 @ Canton, 50 – Final

"Franklin head coach Mike Masto knew that Canton was going to rattle off a run at some point.

But by the time it came, and with the cushion that his Panthers had built, they were more than ready to absorb it.

Franklin created a 20-point lead early in the second half, which was plenty of breathing room after the Bulldogs made a push late in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to single digits. The Panthers reestablished a double-digit lead going into the fourth and kept the Bulldogs at a distance the rest of the way, securing a 61-50 win on the road."

Boys Basketball = Stoughton, 52 @ Franklin, 75 – Final
– Stoughton got off to a strong start and had the lead after a quarter but Franklin surged ahead with 21 points in the second quarter and put the game out of reach with 22 points in the third quarter. Senior Traevon Jones was on fire in the opening quarter, hitting a trio of threes and finished with 13 of his 20 points (tying a career-high) in the opening frame as the Black Knights had a slim 17-15 edge after one. But Franklin started to attack the rim with success in the second: Ben Scaccia, Nas Johnson, Jack Sullivan, Justice Samuels, and James Crowley all hit shots from the floor as the Panthers pushed ahead, 36-27, going into halftime. It was more of the same in the third as Franklin had seven more two-point field goals, went 5-for-5 from the line, and sophomore Danny Santos hit a three as Franklin created plenty of separation, 58-39, going into the fourth. Crowley finished with a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers, Santos added 17 points, Sullivan scored 15 points, and Samuels chipped in with 10 points. Anthony Alessi added 13 points for the Black Knights.

Girls Basketball = Franklin, 65 @ Stoughton, 26 – Final
- Franklin had 11 players score and held Stoughton to single digits in three of the four quarters to run away with a big win (their fourth in a row) that pushes the Panthers into a first-place tie with Milford atop the Kelley-Rex division. Stoughton was held to just one made field goal in the first and freshman Brielle Nicholls scored seven of Franklin’s 13 to give the visitors a nine-point lead after one. Franklin exploded for 21 points in the second, with Evelena scoring seven and four Panthers knocking down threes. Momentum continued to be with the road team in the third, as Liz Dumais (six points, eight rebounds, and two blocks) scored four and Franklin outscored the Black Knights 16-6 to make it a 30-point lead. Even with most of its starters on the bench for the whole fourth quarter, Franklin added 15 more, including four off the bench from Devyn Cairns. Dobecki, Nicholls (five rebounds, six steals, and three assists), and freshman Chloe Gordon each scored nine points for the Panthers, while Ava Bonney scored eight and Tessah Rodrigues and Sophia Sacramone each finished with seven. Both FHS girls & boys (video) basketball teams top Taunton on Friday

Via Instagram, Franklin TV, and our subscription to HockomockSports.com, we share the results of the Winter sports competition for Franklin High School on Friday, January  2, 2026

Boys Basketball = Taunton, 50 @ Franklin, 64 – Final

Franklin TV video available for replay -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvwrGKKYm1o

By Ryan Lanigan || HockomockSports.com Editor

"First-year Franklin head coach Mike Masto preaches that experience is the best teacher.

On Friday afternoon, the Panthers – who feature a roster that’s mostly filled with players getting used to the varsity level – showed they’re starting to learn on the fly.

Franklin put it all together with a dominant third period, turning a close game at halftime into a comfortable 64-50 win over visiting Taunton.

Coming off a tough loss to Winchester in which the Panthers struggled on the offensive end in the second half, Franklin got contributions from up-and-down the lineup against the Tigers."

Girls Basketball = Franklin, 64 @ Taunton, 57 – Final
By Josh Perry || HockomockSports.com Managing Editor, provides the game recap :

"Midway through the third quarter of Friday’s matinee at the Rabouin Field House, Tessah Rodrigues drove into the lane and kicked it out to Sophia Sacramone for a wide open three on the wing. It was Sacramone’s third triple of the quarter and pushed Franklin’s lead to 46-21.

The Panthers looked home and dry and well on their way to a first league win of the season, but no one told Taunton that the game was over.

With a 25-point fourth quarter, including 10 in the first 90 seconds of the frame, Taunton clawed its way back into the game. The Tigers would trim the deficit to as few as six points in the closing seconds before Franklin finally saw out a 64-57 victory."

Gymnastics = Franklin, 132.30 @ Mansfield, 140.80 – Final

Ava Redding finished second on bars with a 9.5, second on beam with a 9.3, and third on floor with an 8.9, while Sophie Moore placed third on vault (9.0), third on beam (9.2), and second on floor (9.3). Franklin was paced by Alivia Hess, who won vault (9.3) and beam (9.4), placed third on bars (9.2), and finished second in the all-around with a 36.45. Girls Basketball = Foxboro, 41 @ Franklin – 31 – Final

The first quarter was a struggle for both teams, but Foxboro led 7-0 after one. In the second, freshman Gia Porazzo scored five points (the first points of her varsity career) and Foxboro won the quarter 12-4 to build a double-digit cushion. The Panthers came to life in the third behind a pair of threes and 10 points from Sophia Sacramone, who finished with 11 for the game. – Foxboro took a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter and never trailed the rest of the way, holding onto a slim lead for the majority of the game before finally closing out the win in the final seconds, marking the Warriors’ first win over the Panthers since 2017. After Franklin senior Jack Sullivan (career-high 21 points) converted a bucket in transition to pull the Panthers within one early in the fourth, Henry Griffin found sophomore Logan Walford down low with a beautiful pass for an easy two, and Timmy Kerzner-Greenwell splashed in a triple on a feed from Cam DeLeskey (9 points) to push the lead to 47-41. Sullivan drained a three for Franklin with 4:38 to go but the Panthers went without points for over two minutes and Colin Trimble (career-high 19 points) had a strong finish at the rim, and Griffin cleaned up an offensive rebound for two more to make it 51-44 with two minutes to go. Franklin didn’t go quietly though as Gio Carlucci stole a pass and laid it in for two with 44 seconds to go, and Kyle Batla snagged a loose ball that led to a layup for Sullivan with 30 seconds to go to make it 51-48. Batla got another steal at midcourt with 15 seconds left but Franklin was off the mark. Foxboro sophomore Bobby Hickox calmly sank a pair of free throws right in front of the student section to ice it with 4.3 seconds left.

Boys Basketball = Franklin, 39 @ Oliver Ames, 54 – Final
"For most of the past two seasons, taking a three wasn’t high on Jacob Lok’s list of offensive options.

The senior point guard has built his reputation as a pass-first floor general, but with Oliver Ames needing new scoring options after heavy graduation losses, Lok committed to expanding his game — and it paid off Tuesday night.

Lok hit four triples in the third quarter and scored 15 of his career-high 18 points in the frame, powering Oliver Ames to a 54-39 win over Franklin, snapping the Panthers’ 39-game Hock win streak that dated back to January of 2023. It also marked OA’s first win over Franklin since 2014."
