Baseball = Franklin, 7 @ Taunton, 8 – Final
– Taunton took a lead in the second inning against visiting Franklin and held on for the 8-7 win despite a Panther threat in the final inning. In the top of the first, Franklin exploded with four runs but Taunton answered with four runs of their own, highlighted by an Eddy Travers two-RBI single and a huge two-run triple from Aiden Twigg. After holding Franklin scoreless in the second inning, Joey Benoit’s solo home run put Taunton up by one — a lead they never let go of. Down by two in the seventh inning, Franklin loaded the bases with no outs but Angel Rodriguez came on and induced a ground ball for a double play. Franklin scored on the play and put the tying run on third but Rodriguez got a fly ball to Jeremy Knief in center to end it. Senior Jack Sullivan led the Panthers with three hits and an RBI, and sophomore Ethan Herndon added two hits including a triple. Corbin Melo and Benoit each had two hits apiece for the Tigers. Ryuji Fantasia (3IP, 5H, 2ER, 0BB, 1K) earned the win in relief and Rodriguez secured the save. Jacoby Brown pitched well in relief for Franklin, allowing one unearned run on one hit and no walks, striking out three in a pair of innings.
Softball = Franklin, 7 @ Taunton, 10 – Final
– Franklin plated seven runs in the top of the third inning to take a lead but Taunton responded with nine unanswered runs, including five in the fifth inning, to earn its third win of the season. Aniyah Bailey hit a home run to left to put the Tigers ahead in the bottom of the second but the Panthers’ offense roared to life in the top of the third. Sophia Sacramone drove in a run on a fielder’s choice, Ava Florest brought in one on a single up the middle, Olivia Ross drew a bases loaded walk to bring in another run, Amelia Rakitin was hit by a pitch to score another and Phoebe O’Connor cleared the bases with a two-out double to give the Panthers a 7-1 lead. Bailey smashed another home run, this time a two-run shot to center to help the Tigers chip away. An RBI single from Victoria Corrao in the bottom of the fourth cut the deficit to 7-4. In the bottom of the fifth, Mia Torres (walk), Bella Bourque (single), and Gracie Oliveira (single) all reached to load the bases and Ashlyn Hebert came through with a one-out triple to bring all three runs in to tie it at 7-7. Nevaeh Labreche followed with an RBI ground out to put Taunton back in front, Grace Simmons reached on an error that allowed one more run to score, and Corrao hit a line drive double to left to score the Tigers’ fifth run of the inning to make it 9-7. Bourque finished with three hits and two runs, while Oliveira, Corrao, and Kaylee Lopes each had two hits for the Tigers. Florest, O’Connor, and Addi Weiss each collected two hits for the Panthers.
Boys Lacrosse = Franklin, 14 @ Taunton, 0 – Final
Girls Lacrosse = Taunton, 4 @ Franklin, 20 – Final
– Nine different players recorded a point as Franklin rolled to a dominant win over Taunton. Izzy Cross, who recently surpassed 100 career points, led the way with seven goals and three assists, while Clara Blongastainer added five goals and one assist along with nine draw controls. Kassidy Glynn scored two goals with one draw control, while Madison Cardoso and Talia O’Leary (two draw controls) each added a goal for Taunton. Abigail Clark made six saves in net for the Tigers.

Boys Tennis = Franklin, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – Final
– Franklin rolled in straight sets in four matches and returned home with a sweep over Taunton. Sophomore Deklan Morin came out strong and didn’t drop a game in the first set and went on to take a 6-0, 6-3 win at first singles, sophomore Anish Bokil prevailed in a great match at second singles (6-1, 2-6, 7-5), and senior Max Sebell completed the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 verdict at third singles. The Panthers’ all-junior pairing of Rick Yuan and Rushil Partidar rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 first doubles win while senior Asher Martin teamed with junior Ronan Saidha to pick up a 6-4, 6-2 second doubles victory for Franklin.
Girls Tennis = Taunton, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – Final
– Behind a singles sweep and one win from doubles, Franklin took care of business with a 4-1 win over Taunton. Senior Isabelle Simino (6-0, 6-0), senior Avalon Thomes (6-1, 6-2), and sophomore Anna Powers (6-0, 6-2) completed the singles sweep for the Panthers. The Panthers’ all-sophomore team of Julianne Love and Poojan Gaur prevailed from second doubles with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win. Taunton’s first doubles pairing of senior Meaghan Cunningham and junior Nora McDonough earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
