FM #881 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 881 in the series.
This session of the radio show shares my conversation with Dean College Chancellor Edward M Augustus Jr. We met in the wfpr.fm radio studio to record on Thursday, Nov 10, 2022.
Our topic list included
Chancellor Augustus background and his road to Dean
The Dean organizational structure and role he plays co-leading Dean with President Ken Elmore
The challenges facing Dean and how to leverage the “Dean Difference”
Listening as a skill
The recording runs about thirty seven minutes, so let’s listen to my conversation with Chancellor Augustus.

Darryl Purpose was the folk singer who’s name had escaped me during my conversation with the Chancellor. The song line that stuck is found in his performance -> https://darrylpurpose.bandcamp.com/track/a-crooked-line
And how about the coincidence (?) (or maybe not?) that part of the song is about the creation of a baseball stadium?
--------------
We are now producing this in collaboration with Franklin.TV and Franklin Public Radio (wfpr.fm) or 102.9 on the Franklin area radio dial.
This podcast is my public service effort for Franklin but we can't do it alone. We can always use your help.
How can you help?

St. Mary's Women’s Faith Formation - Sep 18 |
"THE UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS system will expand its online education footprint in an attempt to reach more adult learners after formally affiliating with a California-based university known for work on the digital front, officials announced Thursday.
School officials finalized a decision to transfer control of Brandman University, which currently serves 22,000 students as an independent part of the Chapman University System, from Chapman to UMass. Effective immediately, Brandman University is now known as “UMass Global,” which officials described as an independent, non-profit UMass affiliate.
The deal broadens online learning available under the UMass banner, and UMass Global will focus in particular on expanding talent pipelines and helping adult learners access new educational opportunities."

A great introduction to the basics of wine grapes and the six varieties that produce most of the wines that consumers are familiar with.Registration Link: https://bit.ly/2ObIy9d
This is a sit down tasting/education event held in the Franklin Liquors wine room.
We’ll discuss what makes these grapes so special, where you’ll see them grown, and which famous wines you’ll find them in. And of course we’ll taste all six!
Please join us for an immersive tasting experience as we weave through the story of Joseph Carr.
We will talk about how Joe discovered his passion for wine; what led him to starting his namesake label from the Napa Valley; and how the wine he made to honor his father, Josh, became one of America’s most beloved Cabernets.
You’ll have the opportunity to taste and discover how the Josh Cellars varietals compare with their Joseph Carr counterparts
