The Franklin Public Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.  Due to the additional overnight snowfall and current conditions in our parking lots and school walkways, it is not yet suitable to safely receive students and staff.  At this time all after school and evening activities are scheduled as planned.

Starting Monday, Aug 4, 2025 : Franklin/Foxboro Line service change due to Amtrak infrastructure repair work

The Franklin/Foxboro line will experience service and schedule changes due to Amtrak infrastructure repair work. 

Passengers can expect delays up to 20 minutes in both directions. 

• On weekdays, after 9 AM, shuttle buses will replace service between Forge Park/495 and Franklin 
• Foxboro trains 1770 and 1765 will have shuttle buses replace service between Walpole and Foxboro
• Times with a B in Brown indicate the shuttle bus schedule

Waste Management Update - Trash Collection Schedule for 5/16 & 5/17 Franklin, MA

Update from Waste Management:

Due to long lines at the disposal facilities this week, trash collection is behind schedule. 

For those with routine Thursday curbside collection:

• If your trash was not collected yesterday (Thursday 5/15/25) as-scheduled, it will be collected today (Friday 5/16/25). 

For those with routine Friday curbside collection:

• If your trash is not collected today (Friday 5/16/25), it will be collected tomorrow (Saturday 5/17/25).

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE WEEK OF MAY 12:

On Sunday Night (5/12) the Construction crew will be working on Rt. 140 to tie in a new section of water main.  This work will occur between the hours of 8pm and 5am.  Limited water shutdown will occur on
Rt. 140 and those customers affected will be notified.  Expect lane closures and traffic delays due to active roadwork.

Starting on Tuesday May 14, between the hours of 7am to 4pm the dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing will continue to be closed at Tri-County Drive.  Those residents should continue to follow the posted signs for directions on exiting and entering.

DPW Reminder - Curbside Trash Pick-up: one day delay for the entire week due to Memorial Day

Reminder for next week's curbside trash pick-up (May 29th - June 2nd)! If your regular collection day is Monday, it will now be on Tuesday. 

One day delay for the entire week. Friday's collection will be on Saturday June 3rd.
