– Canton went on the road and earned a sweep over North Attleboro (25-20, 25-18, 25-21), powered by strong all-around performances from Erin Bigham and Soley Rodriguez Martinez. Bigham filled the stat sheet with 24 assists, six digs, five kills, three aces, and a block, while Rodriguez Martinez anchored the back row with 10 digs and added six aces and two kills. Brooke Connor led the Bulldogs’ attack with 10 kills and two aces. For North Attleboro, Deanna Miconi finished with 13 assists, Ava Kraskouskas posted 12 digs and two aces, Isabella Houghton recorded seven kills and six blocks, and Natalie Benedetti added six kills and seven digs.

Field Hockey = Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 0 – Final
"Sometimes when the top teams meet up, it becomes defensive. The teams cancel each other out and it just becomes a stalemate where neither side can muster anything towards goal.

But, sometimes, you get games like Tuesday afternoon’s rematch at Beaver Pond Field between the Hockomock League’s top two teams.

Franklin and Canton finished 0-0 for the second time in 15 days, but this was anything but boring. The teams combined for 17 corners and there were chances galore at both ends of the field. While the hosts dominated the first half, the visitors took control midway through the third quarter and held the momentum beyond the final buzzer.

The only thing standing between the top two offenses in the league (148 goals in 28 games combined coming into Tuesday) and a high-scoring shootout was each team’s senior goalie. Franklin’s Devon Barry (eight saves) and Canton’s Shaelyn Murphy (15 saves) pulled off a series of terrific saves and kept the game tight to the end."
