Frank Saccoccio began playing guitar at age 11 and has spent decades mastering classical, jazz, and rock styles. He’s performed across Rhode Island and Massachusetts in ensembles ranging from swing bands to solo sets, and also enjoys piano and ukulele. Based in Franklin, MA, Frank is the guitarist for The Jazz Tones Trio, bringing elegant, expressive sounds to intimate venues throughout southern New England.

Emily Gove has been performing for over 16 years on piano and 10 years on accordion, with a versatile background in jazz combos, choral groups, musical theatre, and classical solo work. Her musical journey has taken her across New England and abroad to Italy, England, and the Pacific Islands. Today, she plays with small jazz ensembles in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, adding rich texture to The Jazz Tones Trio with both keyboard and accordion.

After a 32-year hiatus, George Piggott returned to the bass at age 52, studying classical and jazz under Robert Petteruti—whose legacy includes performances with Duke Ellington and other jazz legends. Over the past 16 years, George has played with the Warwick Symphony, Ocean State Pops, RI Philharmonic Community Orchestra, and Great Woods Symphony. He now anchors The Jazz Tones Trio, blending bass with piano, guitar, and accordion to deliver soulful renditions from the American Songbook and light rock classics.

Upcoming Community Concert, Discussion, and Worship

Dear Franklin UMC members and friends,

There are a few things quickly coming up that I wanted to make sure you didn't miss.

First, there is a Community Concert tomorrow, April 26, at 7p in the sanctuary featuring Michael Rivelis. Michael will be playing classic rock and folk hits. You can learn more about him and download the concert poster by going to https://franklinumc.org/2025/03/18/community-concert-feat-michael-rivelis-saturday-april-26/.

Second, we are starting a new worship series this Sunday where we will discuss what it means to live our faith in this time. This series is based off of one of my favorite (secular) leadership books, Who Do We Choose to Be? Facing Reality, Claiming Leadership, Restoring Sanity (Oakland, CA: Berrett-Koehler, 2023) by Margaret J. Wheatley. Information about this Sunday's worship can be found here: https://franklinumc.org/2025/04/24/worship-together-sunday-april-27-2025/.

For anyone interested in reading the book, Who Do We Choose to Be? by Margaret Wheatley, and discussing it, we will gather on Wednesday evenings (via Google Meet) to go through each chapter. We will discuss the "Opening" on Wednesday, April 30. This discussion is open to anyone. You don't have to attend worship, or even be a Christian, to participate. I am going to try to have a discussion guide for each week. Everyone is invited to participate. You can learn more about the book, worship series and discussion series at https://franklinumc.org/2025/04/24/new-book-worship-series-who-do-we-choose-to-be/

As always, if ever you have questions about the church or faith, don't hesitate to reach out. We're on this journey together. I look forward to seeing you in worship and/or at one of the events we have coming up!

Peace.
Jacob
