2023 Milford 5K Benefitting Mass Special Olympics Programs: Saturday Sept 30
The annual Milford 5k! is scheduled for September 30th, 2023
Runner/ Walker: $20.00 ($25.00 for day of race registration on site)
Kid's Dash: $10.00
Location: Milford High School at 31 Fountain St. Race will start at end at the entrance to the gymnasium (located at the back of the school)
- Registration - 8:00am (Day of Registration Fee is $25)
- Fun Run - 8:30am
- Race - 9:00am
- Awards - 10:15am
Awards presented to top Male and Female finishers in 7 divisions: Under 19, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Course Route
Start at back parking lot of High School (near gym entrance). Out front driveway, right onto West Fountain Street, left onto Congress Street, left onto North Vine Street, left onto Highland Street, left onto West Fountain Street and right into the first entrance of the high school, then left into road leading to gymnasium entrance.

Franklin Police runs their leg, Tri-County presents new cauldron for MLE Torch Run for Special Olympics
Via Franklin Police post on June 7, 2023:
"Today members of the FPD joined the team from the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (LETR). The LETR team has been running throughout Massachusetts with Special Olympic athletes to build excitement for this weekend's Special Olympics Summer Games at Harvard University.After a run athletes and officers were greeted by the entire Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School. Tri-County presented LETR with a new cauldron that will be used that this year's summer games and many games to come. The cauldron was made and donated by students in the metal fabrication class."

FHS Unified basketball team brings home the Gold!
The FHS Unified Basketball team, representing Massachusetts at the Special Olympics games won the Gold Medal in the final of the High School Interscholastic Division B finals on Friday. The team topped Oregon 37-35 after reaching the finals by topping Connecticut on Thursday by a 27-26 score.
"We did it!! This team. GOLD! When you play as friends, with heart, and have fun, great things happen!

CBSNews: "Franklin High School's Unified Basketball team competes in Special Olympics in Florida" (video)
"A very special opening ceremonies at the Special Olympics in Orlando, Florida included a team from Massachusetts.
Franklin High School's unified basketball program is the first from Massachusetts to qualify for the Special Olympics.
And they are as special as it gets.
"They have come here and they have shown everybody what they're made of; their compassion, their 'supportsmanship,' their abilities on that court. There are no words to express how fantastic this group of 10 really is," coach Lisa Burger told WBZ-TV."

Team Massachusetts USA Games Training Camp (video)
"Team Massachusetts got together for a weekend in March for a USA Games Training Camp. We got to know each other with team building games, bowling & even a freezing cold New England Revolution Game! On Sunday we learned a team dance and sat in on classroom sessions that taught us more about the Games. We can't wait for Orlando!"
