When I visited on Tuesday to grab some photos of the first two pieces located at the Sculpture Park, I also shot this about 4:00 minute video.
Stop by to see the "emerging art" from the "emerging forest"!
Enjoy!

Sculpture Park (update)
Hey, there are sculptures in the new Sculpture Park on Panther Way! When I stopped by the Franklin Art Center during the harvest Festival on Sunday, I had heard there were two in place with two more scheduled. I managed to stop by to grab these photos after work on Tuesday.
Stop by to see these pieces for yourself and check out the park.

Sculpture Park update
In my prior visit to the Sculpture Park, I took a video and speculated on what would happen to cover the gap in the bank. Now I know and you can see that they have covered this water way very nicely.

Future Sculpture Park (video)
Saturday afternoon was such a gorgeous day, I had to be out and about to capture some photos and in this case a brief 5 minute video. I took a walk to highlight the development efforts for the sculpture park to be opened this fall on Panther Way. The park will be located on the ground of the old town pool next to the Police Station.
If you haven't been out there yet, do plan on going when the sculptures are in place. In the meantime, join me for this walk.
Additional information on the Sculpture Park can be found on the Franklin Art Center webpage.

"on the hunt for venues to display their work"
The Milford Daily News provides an update on the sculpture park planned for the old town pool land next to the Police Station on Panther Way. DPW workers were out there Saturday doing some grading work on the walking paths.

When the DPW finishes, Linda Kabat said, the artists will have a better idea of where their sculptures might be displayed.
"We are just waiting at this point," she said. "It’s hard for the sculptors to get an idea of where their work will go. They are waiting to get a better visualization of the park."
Depending on the available space, the Kabats would like to set up between 10 and 15 sculptures. The park will include as many permanent installations as the center can afford, while the rest of the sculpture will be rotated in and out.Read the full article in the Milford Daily News here

The park’s grand opening will take place in the fall, Kabat said. Depending on available space, the center would like to display between 10 and 15 sculptures, rotating new ones in whenever possible.
"Some of the sculptures will have containment areas, and some we are going to hide in the trees," said Kabat, adding that the center will accept art from students and professional artists.
After the park is established, Kabat said he would like to hold art classes there, through the center and the new high school.
The Department of Public Works has to install fences and create paths, Nutting said. He noted that the park will be handicap-accessible.

Franklin Sculpture Park - imagine the future
I took a walk around the location of the old town pool on Panther Way on Saturday. The photos in this sequence will take us as we approach on Panther Way and then walk around the pool counter clockwise.
You can see the Police Station in the distance beyond the storm water catch basins. These were added to remove phosphorus from the storm water before it gets into Mine Brook.
Nature has taken over the pool area.
Benches are planed to be placed along the wide wall area.
Another pond shaped like a check mark feeds into the old pool area. (See map detail below)

You can navigate within this map pinned to the Police Station to see the water flow from the pond to the pool and eventually across RT 140 to Mine Brook.

Defaced already
Yes, Dolores and I found a sticker placed on the base of the "Hat's Off to Franklin" sculpture on our walk this morning.
It didn't take long for some inconsiderate soul to deface this brand new Franklin gem.
Fortunately, it removed fairly easily.
