Tri-County Carpentry students collaborate on Franklin art project
"Tri-County Carpentry students had a fantastic time teaming up with local artist Amy Adams for an incredible community project with Franklin Elementary School!
Mrs. Adams reached out to our students to create wooden fish for the elementary students to paint and display at the Franklin Community Sculpture Park. Using their CAD/CAM skills and the CNC router, our students designed and crafted a variety of fish shapes from pine boards. After some meticulous sanding, the school of fish was ready to swim over to Mrs. Adams.
Our Tri-County Carpentry students are so proud to have been a part of this amazing initiative. Well done, Dylan Fairchild, Jackson Kullich, Austin LeBlanc, and Gideon Vazquez!

Can you help this Wind Phone project with a donation? (audio)
Via Amy Adams:
Project Healing with HeART Is underway. We are building a Wind Phone and need your HELP!
The call is symbolic and can be used to process grief. Each phone will include an artistic element as well as a list of the nearest resources for support. This project requires a collaboration of these organizations as well as encourage community involvement. Loss is something that impacts us all, we should not shy away when we need the support or can be there for others.
Please share, read more about this cause and how you can help. https://gofund.me/1f8d33b2
You can also listen to Amy and I talk about this project as one of many we cover in our discussion about art -> https://www.franklinmatters.org/2024/11/talking-art-with-amy-adams-audio.html

Key events for Thursday, April 25, 2024
Should be a good event with art and conversation about art, a great way for me to begin my evening of reporting
What is this latest redistricting effort going to bring forward? This may be the preview for the subcommittee before the School Committee gets to see it. Kinda a sneak peak! We should at least find out find out where they are in the process.
Yes, a special committee meeting to interview the next school business administrator. Folks should recall that Miriam Goodman retired last year. Dr Bob Dutch has stepped in for this year. The meeting will help determine the next individual to fill this critical role.
Funded by the Franklin Cultural Council and MASS Cultural Council, a great way to close the day with some big band and jazz sounds

Talking about "Create Art Around the World" with the NAHS student leadership team (audio)
FM #1158 = This is the Franklin Matters radio show, number 1158 in the series.
This session of the radio show shares my conversation with the leadership team of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS). Amy Edson, FHS Art teacher, and club advisor. The leadership team students introduce themselves as we go around:
Raena, the President of NAHS and leading the Singapore room
Allie, the Vice-President, and leading the Spain room
Gia, the Data Manager, and leading the Columbia room
Christine, the Social Media Director and leading the Sudan room
We had our conversation in one of the art rooms where the Create Art Around the World will be taking place.
Thanks to the Franklin Cultural Council for the grant to enable this event for free.
