March 2023 - Donor Nibble   FFP FY2022 Annual Report We are excited to share our FY22 Annual Report. This snapshot of Franklin Food Pantry's finances, programs, donors, staff and neighbors provides an update on our operations and the impact of your support.   This year's report highlights our strategic decision to make permanent the multiple methods of distribution, and other initiatives, implemented during COVID, including Weekly In-Person Shopping (instead of monthly), additional Mobile Pantry sites, Curbside Distribution, organic Community Garden produce and Home Delivery. "Thank you for making the experience of needing and asking for assistance such an easy, positive, and comfortable one. It can be very difficult to disclose to others when your family is struggling. Everyone at the Franklin Food Pantry has been so warm and welcoming that my anxiety about the process is gone." ~ Neighbor 8th Annual Empty Bowls Dinner and Auction Tickets are available now! Empty Bowls Tickets The 8th annual Empty Bowls Dinner and Auction fundraiser will take place on May 18th to benefit the Franklin Food Pantry. The May 18th fundraiser, includes a simple meal of soup and bread, meant to remind guests of the many "empty bowls" that exist in the lives of those who experience hunger. Dinner guests choose hand-made bowls to take home as a reminder that "somewhere, someone's bowl is empty." DAF Direct Legacy Gifts Help ensure that The Pantry will be here to serve our community in the future by making a legacy gift. This can be as simple as leaving a percentage of your estate to The Pantry in your will. Donor Advised Funds Did you know that you can make a tax-free qualified charitable distribution at any time from your IRA if you are 70½ or more years old.  Please seek the advice of your tax accountant or attorney.  From the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network Universal State Charitable Deduction Update The long-delayed Massachusetts state charitable contributions deduction took effect on January 1, 2023. This deduction is now available to all donors including those who don't itemize deductions on their federal tax returns.   Thank you for supporting The Pantry!

FHS Empty Bowls Club is Hosting a Free Bowl-Making Event for Adults, Kids and Families!

The Open Studio Bowl-Making event will be held on Saturday February 4, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM, in Room 138 at Franklin High School.

Participants will create ceramic bowls to be used at the 8th annual Empty Bowls Dinner and Auction fundraiser on May 18 benefiting the Franklin Food Pantry. All materials and instructions are provided. The event is open to the public. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

“Somewhere someone’s bowl is always empty” 

The Empty Bowls Club is finally starting its 2022-23 school year, bringing lots of excitement! 

Empty Bowls is a club at Franklin High School that brings a community of students together to make bowls out of clay. The club partners with the Franklin Food Pantry who helps spread the word. The club’s goal every year is to make 400 bowls for the fundraiser that happens in May, which raises money for the Franklin Food Pantry.

Monday, Oct. 3rd, the club had its first full member meeting to discuss the membership expectations, the annual t-shirt design, and to take a club group photo.

It's May! And time for Stamp Out Hunger & the Empty Bowls Dinner

Empty Bowls, Stamp Out Hunger and more!

May 2022 Stamp Out Hunger Stamp Out Hunger has returned to Franklin! On Saturday, May 14, Franklin letter carriers will pick up donated goods from town residents at their mailboxes and deliver them to the Franklin Food Pantry. There are two ways you can help. You can sign up to volunteer to help unload the food, sort, and date check donations and/or you can leave specific food items at your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up and return to the Pantry. #franklincanstampouthunger Sign Up to Volunteer! Get your tickets today and join us and the Franklin High School Empty Bowls Club on Thursday, May 19. Attendees will receive a simple meal of soup and bread and leave with an empty bowl to remind them that somewhere, someone's bowl is empty. There will also be a silent auction, a giving wall, and a kids' art table! Buy your tickets here or at the door (cash or check only at the door!) The Empty Bowls Club has been generously supported by the Franklin Cultural Council. We have a variety of Empty Bowls Sponsorships available for businesses and individuals who want to support The Pantry. Sponsorships range from "Soup Starter" at $500 to "Pot of Gold" at $3000.
