50+ Job Seekers: Workshop - June 1 on Part-time work by choice

Roundtable Networking.png

This free program is available through a grant from the Massachusetts Councils on Aging (MCOA) and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA)

Hello, Job Seeker!

We have an exciting 50+ Job Seekers

event this week you won't want to miss!

Thurs, June 1st, 10:00 - 11:00 am

Part-Time Work By Choice:

Tips for Finding and Maintaining Part-time Professional Work

Savvy Seeker Series: Panel with Leanne Rodd!

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the total number of people working part-time voluntarily - 22 million in January 2023 - is now almost six times the 4.1 million who are working part-time but would prefer full-time hours. Driven by caregiving, burnout, and the economic realities of inflation, the part-time work landscape has shifted dramatically with more opportunities for those seeking flexibility.

During this panel discussion, we'll talk about recent shifts in the part-time landscape and hear tips for finding and maintaining part-time, professional jobs, including:

- Tips for finding part-time opportunities

- Job attributes that work well with a part-time schedule

- Negotiating a part-time schedule for new/current roles

- Setting clear and positive boundaries for work hours and deliverables

- Effective communication strategies

- Pros and cons of working part-time

This panel discussion is offered by 50+ Job Seekers in MA, co-presented with Encore Boston Network, and hosted by FlexProfessionals, a Boston-area talent resource specializing in flexible, professional roles. Leanne Rodd, Director of Talent at FlexProfessionals, will moderate the discussion.

Join us to learn about and discuss personal branding and marketing yourself.

Tewksbury Library Network presents Power Networking with Eric Ross

Ed Lawrence writes:

'I'm sharing this notice from Robert Hayes of the Tewksbury Library, because I know the presenter Eric Ross and recommend his methods. He is known as one of the region's best networkers.

I even have a copy of his DVD, "Power Networking."

If you are uncomfortable networking OR are comfortable, but need a process---you should attend this session.

How To Power Network
Monday, March 27, 2 PM
Learn all the tools necessary to develop extensive networks that access the hidden job market and that will pay continuing dividends throughout one's career. Attendees will learn a comprehensive step-by-step process that starts with people they already know and generates a continuing source of new and valued professional contacts. Through networking, many of these contacts become "helpers" in the job search and often become life-long professional or personal friends. Networking in a job search is truly relationship marketing of oneself in his/her target market. The presentation will give attendees a thorough overview of the total person-to-person networking process. Led by Eric Ross, who is often acknowledged as New England's master networker. Ross landed all of the industrial senior executive positions he's held over the last 20 years through the networking approach and methods explained in his Power Networking presentation.

Register directly on Zoom HERE.

NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 24 hours of the program.

Have a great day and a terrific week!"

Focused networking advice

Great advice when you consider the content in the context of the character. A good model (and spelled out) for someone to follow and re-purpose for their own goals and objectives.
