2023-2024 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! for Lifelong Music Academy
2023-2024 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Lifelong Music Academy's after-school music classes are now available for registration! Please click a program name for more information, calendars, and how to register.
The Band School of Franklin: For students in grades 4 through 9. Tuesday afternoons at Horace Mann Middle School starting September 26, 2023.
The String School of Franklin: For students in grades 3 through 12. Wednesday afternoons at Horace Mann Middle School starting September 27, 2023.
Elementary Glee: For students in grades 3, 4 and 5. Thursday afternoons at Horace Mann Middle School starting September 28, 2023.
Private Music Lessons: For all ages. Monday through Thursday at Franklin High School from September 2023 through May 2024. Schedule varies by instrument. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the school year. Instruction is offered in the following instruments: Bass (acoustic/string bass or electric bass guitar), Cello, Clarinet, Flute, French Horn, Guitar (Acoustic, Electric), Low Brass (baritone, euphonium, trombone, tuba), Saxophone, Trumpet, Ukulele, Violin, and Viola.

Lifelong Community Learning – Join Us This Fall!
Registration is now open for Fall 2023 at Lifelong Community Learning. We welcome residents of Franklin and surrounding towns to sample our wide variety of classes. We have something for everyone!
Our 35 Fall classes include options in Arts and Crafts, Lifestyle and Culture, Exercise and Wellness, Team Sports, Workshops and Special Events, and Kids’ Corner.
In addition to returning favorites like Country Line Dancing, Watercolor or Acrylic Painting, Men's Basketball, Badminton, Yoga, and Kids’ Cooking, we have some new classes this fall including:
● Two new Kids’ Corner classes for students in grades 2-5: Business Sharks, where kids design the business of their dreams and pitch it to a panel of judges, and Expert Architects, in which students design and build out of Legos the next great building of the 21st century. Classes start September 12 and 14 and run 8 weeks.● Sound Bath Meditation One-Night Workshop: On October 2nd, participants will lie down and listen to resonant sounds, while their minds clear and stress melts away.● Women of a certain age can receive makeup guidance and practical techniques during our Mature Makeup One-Night Workshop on October 12th.● One of the hottest trends in entertaining is coming to Franklin on November 16th with this Charcuterie Board One-Night Workshop. Bring home your own individual board after learning about ingredients and presentation.
Classes begin as early as August 28th (online sign language course), September 5th (La Blast fitness), September 7th (ladies light hiking), September 11th (adult painting, badminton, volleyball, and kids’ yoga). We have many other classes starting throughout the fall months. Don’t miss out!

FHS Strength & Conditioning Program recognizes their "Athletes of the Summer"
We heard during the recent School Committee meeting update on summer programs that the Strength & Conditioning sessions were popular with almost 400 students participating.
The Instagram account for the program shared a 2 part "Athletes of the Summer" series of photos to recognize some of the student for taking part and doing well.

The Solutions Extended Day program is hiring Group Leaders
The Solutions Extended Day program, a service of the Franklin Public Schools, is looking to hire Group Leaders.
Groups leaders would work Monday to Friday from 2 to 6 PM and earn $17 to 18.50/hour. These positions are eligible for benefits and are scheduled to begin August 21, 2023.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with school age children
- Process strong leadership and organizational skills
- Computer knowledge, especially in Google Apps
