About the SAFE Coalition:

What is the S.A.F.E. Coalition? The SAFE Coalition is a community wide response to this growing public health crisis. Our mission is to provide early education and prevention strategies, treatment options and coping mechanisms for those affected by substance abuse disorder.
Why we became involved? We became involved after learning many young adults in our own community have developed the disease of substance abuse disorder. These young adults and their families have been batting an illness without education or support. Far too often this illness has left its mark either through broken relationships, overdoses, or death.
Why does the SAFE Coalition need your financial support? SAFE has many initiatives planned that will help our community battle this epidemic. Grant funds for coalition work are limited. We are a volunteer led grass roots organization that cannot sustain itself with your support.
Here are just a few of the initiatives we are planning in the near future:
  • Develop regional “Drop-in Centers” where a comprehensive range of services, including counseling and treatment options will be offered to those impacted by Substance Abuse Disorder.
  • Provide resource kits that offer information on counseling, treatment centers and more. These will be given out by police officers and first responders to at risk people.
  • Provide Narcan and training for the at risk community (including parents of active users).
  • Providing a 24/7 substance abuse hotline with licensed counselors available to answer questions and provide treatment to those in need.
  • Continue to present innovative programs for all aged groups aimed at early prevention.

Thank you for your generous support!

John Allen, of the town's Department of Planning and Community Development, said it is important for the town to assist its smaller businesses.
"Our economy is based on small businesses," he said. "It's great to have large businesses, but we need small businesses as well."

"Chris Herren could have retold his tale of how his battle with drug addiction sidelined his once promising career and turned him into a motivational speaker.
Herren, speaking Friday at Hopedale Junior-Senior High School students in a packed auditorium, instead spoke about the students and young adults he’s met who have fallen victim to the scourge of drugs, depression and self-image issues."

"Waite said she first learned of the academy from her computer science teacher, who gave her a flyer about it.
"I applied in May and I was accepted," she said. "So, for a week in July, I commuted in to Boston."
She spent that week learning about apps and was given a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet to help further her efforts."

ST PATRICK'S DAY
WINE IDEAS
 Featuring Grady Family Vineyards

Grady Logo
Located in the heart of California's Lodi Wine Appellation,
the Grady Family Vineyards produces high quality Cabernet Sauvignon,
Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio wine grapes.
The climate, soil, vineyard design and careful vineyard management combine into the craftsmanship
of these premium varietal wine grapes from an area that so many have come to know for quality
and exceptional value.

About the Grady Family Vineyards

The family first vineyard was in  1998 on a 50 acre parcel approximately 3 miles west / southwest of
downtown Lodi, California. Evening Delta breezes cool the area during  warm summers
producing fully ripened wine grapes known for their balanced tannin structures,
fruitiness and ample acidity.
The vineyard is managed by Jim Grady III, a Fresno State viticulture graduate.
Wine making started in 2001. After several successful vintages and a Silver medal
at the California State Fair, they decided to begin commercial production.
In the spring of 2008, they began distributing their wines throughout the United States.

This winery is what we love!
