Let's pick a Day/Time for a weekend session of the monthly Franklin Q&A (survey)

We need to find a day and time of day that would work for the most folks to participate in a monthly Franklin Q&A session. There is one at the Senior Center on the 3rd Wednesday each month. 

There was a trial during 2025 for Monday evenings at the Franklin Library that didn't work well enough to continue.

So let's try a weekend at the Franklin TV Studio:

• Either a Saturday - late morning, early afternoon
• Or a Sunday, late afternoon, or early evening

Mark the day / time combination that you'd prefer with a 1 (top), 2 (still works) or choice of No (can't make it)

Note: whatever day/time combination is chosen, there would be a remote option (via Zoom) to participate as well.

Thursday, January 1, 2026 -> Commuter Rail to operate on Weekend Schedule

The Commuter Rail will be operating on a weekend schedule on Thursday, January 1st, in observance of New Year's Day.

Reminder: Fare gates at South Station will be activated incrementally this week, beginning on Tuesday, December 30. 

Riders may encounter active fare gates and will need to tap or scan to exit and enter the track area. Visit MBTA.com/CRGATES for more information.

All gates at South Station are expected to be in service during the first week in January.

Hold the date for this Quilt and Crafting Weekend in Holliston July 25 - July 27, 2025

Yankee Quilters, a local guild of quilters, will hold a weekend "staycation" for all interested quilters and crafters who enjoy sewing in a beautiful space with friends new and old.

This three-day quilting event will be Friday, July 25^th to Sunday, July 28^th at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 Central Street, Holliston. In addition to giving participants the time and space to create their own quilts and crafts in a well-lit spacious hall, ironing tables, 6-foot tables, and wagons to unload equipment are provided. An elevator is available. Hours are Friday 1:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday Noon to 5:00 pm. A Yankee Quilters member will be available all weekend to give basic tips on quilting, knitting, or crochet

Yankee Quilters members will provide Friday supper, Saturday soup lunch and supper, and bagels and cream cheese on Sunday morning. Coffee, tea, water and snacks are offered throughout. A refrigerator and microwave are available for those who bring their own food.  

Quilt and Crafting Weekend in
 Holliston July 25 - July 27, 2025

Participants may register now with prepayment. The rates for members are $100 for the full weekend or $40 per day, or for non-members the weekend rate is $120, or $45 per day including meals. To register, contact Yankee Quilters at yankeequilters11@gmail.com. 

Quilters from new to experienced are welcome to attend Yankee activities throughout the year. In addition to monthly meetings on the second Tuesday in Franklin, the group offers speaker programs, member "show and tell" demonstrations and opportunities to sew together throughout the year. A major focus every year is the creation of dozens of quilts which are provided to cancer patients, Quilts of Valor, Wrap the World with Quilts and other families in need.

This event is a fundraiser for Yankee Quilters, a nonprofit charity based in Franklin. For information about other events, please contact YankeeQuilters11@gmail.com.

Yankee Quilters Guild is a 501-c-3 charitable organization based in Franklin with members throughout the region. The Guild meets on the second Tuesday each month at Emma's Quilt Cupboard in Franklin, Horace Mann Plaza, East Central Street, Franklin in space generously donated by the store. Donations to the Guild are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by current law.

Franklin Line Schedule Changes for April 26 & April 27 Weekend

On Saturday April 26 through Sunday April 27, the Franklin/Foxboro Line will operate on an adjusted schedule with more service to Hyde Park, Ruggles, and Back Bay to accommodate track improvement work.

Franklin Line Schedule Changes for April 26 & April 27 Weekend

April 11-14: Franklin/Foxboro Line notice - shuttle buses will replace service

From Friday April 11 until Sunday April 13 shuttle buses will replace service on the Franklin/Foxboro Line.

Passengers on the Forge Park/495 branch will be bused to and from Readville for regularly scheduled train service.

On Friday April 11 Foxboro Station passengers will be bused to and from Mansfield station for continued Commuter Rail service on the Providence line.

Franklin Food Pantry needs some individually wrapped snacks for student weekend backpacks

Each year, more than 480 children rely on The Pantry for food assistance, and each week 120 bags of food are delivered to Franklin Public Schools for students who need a little help with food over the weekend.

Town offices & Senior Center Closed July 4 and July 5

Happy 4th of July weekend!

Non-emergency town offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday July 5, 2024 in honor of Independence Day.

The Senior Center will be closed on both Thursday July 4 and Friday July 5. 

Town Hall will reopen on Monday July 8, 2024 at 8:00 AM. The Senior Center will reopen at 8:30 AM.
