Franklin Dad Opens Ninja Gym - Grand Opening - April 7

Contestant and Massachusetts Teacher, Allyssa Beird

On April 7, thanks to local Dad, Tim Keenan, Franklin will be getting their very own Ninja Warrior fitness gym with the grand opening of Strive Ninja Fitness on Kenwood Drive. 2017 top female American Ninja Warrior contestant and Massachusetts teacher, Allyssa Beird will be on hand to provide inspiration and coaching to the many future Ninja Warrior hopefuls that will be in attendance.

Tim, father of two junior Ninja Warrior competitors has been traveling quite a distance to provide this unique sport for his children. "I'm very excited to bring this extremely positive and supportive sport to this community," said Tim. "Strive Ninja Fitness hopes to provide an environment where kids (and adults) of all ages and abilities can grow their strength, agility, balance, coordination and most importantly, their confidence."

Classes and open gym training times are available for both kids and adults. Kids classes are offered in 8-week sessions. Each class session is followed by an end-of-class competition where students will have a chance to run through a course that highlights the skills they learned. Obstacles and focus areas vary from week to week including, but not limited to: quad steps, swinging rings, ring toss, cannonballs, monkey bars, various balance obstacles, cargo net, rope climb, cliffhanger and the ever-famous warped wall! This special VIP Pre-Opening Event is FREE and open to the first 50 kids* who are signed up for 8-week Spring Session classes. The event features a meet and greet with Allyssa Beird, photo/autograph opportunity, along with obstacle circuit training and instruction provided by Beird and Strive Ninja Fitness Coaches. Strive Ninja Fitness will officially open its doors at these 2 FREE public events. Hockomock Area YMCA Announces Open Registration For Summer Weight Loss Program

The Hockomock Area YMCA is excited to announce that their summer session of Weigh to Change is now open for registration. This 10-week wellness, weigh-inch loss program piloted last year. Since its inception, staff have witnessed many success stories. Over the course three 10-week sessions in each of our branches—North Attleboro, Foxboro, and Franklin, 149 members have lost a total of 1,409 pounds and 1,633 inches.

The Weigh to Change program offers support and education in both areas of fitness and nutrition. By combining physical training and better nutrition, participants will benefit in the most successful way to achieve weight loss. Participants will be motivated throughout the session with personal training, nutrition guidance, group workouts, and friendly challenge competitions.

The summer program begins June 19 and will run through September 2. For more information and to register visit any Hockomock Area YMCA Member Service Desk or online at https://www.hockymca.org/why-join-weigh-to-change. Specifically the Weigh to Change Program includes:

  • Weekly individual 30-minute personal training session
  • Individual nutrition counseling with nutritionist
  • Minimum of three weekly group training sessions offered solely for the spring WTC group.
  • Weekly nutrition and physical challenges
  • Two Nutrition workshops
  • Before and after Styku 3-D body scans
  • Entry into a summer local road race
  • Grocery store education tours


The cost of the program is $499 for Hockomock Area YMCA Members and $599 for Hockomock Area YMCA Program Members (over an $800 value). The Hockomock Area YMCA Announces Spring Weight Loss Program

As warmer weather approaches, many people dread the thought of the swimsuit season because of poor food and exercise choices throughout the winter. But it’s not too late to evaluate food and exercise habits and adopt healthier ones in a conscious effort to live healthier and happier, and look great this summer!

The Hockomock Area YMCA is excited to announce that registration is open for their spring session of Weigh to Change, a 10-week wellness program, at all 3 full-facility branches located in Foxboro, Franklin, and North Attleboro following the success of their fall program where 65 members lost a total of 626 lbs. and 644.2 inches.

Weigh to Change is a 10-week weight loss wellness program which offers support and education in both areas of fitness and nutrition. By combining physical training and better nutrition, participants will benefit in the most successful way to achieve weight loss. Participants will be challenged and motivated throughout the session with personal training, nutrition guidance, group work outs, and friendly challenge competitions.

TeamFitness: Thanksgiving Week Information

  • Thanksgiving Day: 7 am - 12 noon (7:00 am WOD in CF Box) and (7:15 am SPIN Class- only class- early sign up recommended).
  • Friday, Nov 25: 5 am - 7 pm (regular hours and classes)

We will supply a box to collect all non-perishable food items to be delivered to the Franklin Food Pantry. Please consider all items including dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, plastic wrap, canned goods, and even coffee. Nearly a third of adults they serve skip a meal so their children can eat. Thanksgiving is coming. Lets give thanks for our well being and help those who are in need.

Hunger does not have a season.
