Franklin Historical Museum: Blizzard of '78 - March 11

Our next speaker in the Franklin Historical Museum’s Second Sunday Speaker Series will be Alan Earls. Local historian and author, Earls will discuss the Blizzard of ’78

The historic storm had a devastating impact that is vividly remembered to this day by anyone who lived through it. Earls’ presentation will cover the impact, the details, the stories and the devastation of the famed Blizzard of ’78. 

The presentation is scheduled for Sunday March 11 and begins at 1:15 PM. The first speaker in the Series, Paul Compton drew a standing room only crowd in February as he discussed Saving Franklin from the Wrecking Ball.

FTC: Phishers send fake invoices

We've recently heard that scammers are recycling an old phishing attempt. In this version, scammers, posing as a well-known tech company, email a phony invoice showing that you've recently bought music or apps from them. The email tells you to click on a link if you did not authorize the purchase. Stop – do not click on the link. That's the new twist on an old scam.

FHS boys hockey win Melchiono Tournament

Boys Basketball = Franklin, 49 @ Cambridge R&L, 53 – Final

Girls Basketball = Franklin, 42 vs Hopkinton, 44 – Final


Boys Hockey = Franklin, 3 vs. Marshfield, 2 – Final (OT)

– Brendan O’Rielly scored the overtime winner to hand Franklin the Melchiono Tournament title. Jeremy Miller and Scott Elliott also scored in the win, which will be recorded as a tie for MIAA purposes.

Delasanta 3rd in 400M in A10 Indoor Championships


Franklin resident Anthony Delasanta, now running for URI finished third in the 400 meter dash finals in the A10 Indoor Championships with a time of 49.47 seconds.
