FHS results from the D1 Indoor Track & Field meet at New Balance

The MIAA hosted its divisional meets over a five-day stretch at the TRACK at New Balance. The Hockomock League had seven athletes claim a state title across three different divisions.

Full results for Division 1

Franklin Boys Track:
  • In the 55-meter dash, Peter Gubka ran a personal best to win the prelims in a league-leading time (6.55). He equaled that time to finish second in the final (6.55).
  • In the 55-meter hurdles, Peter Gubka qualified eighth with a time of 7.83. He placed third in the final with a time of 7.71.
  • Kyle Twomey ran a personal best and league-leading time to finish 12th in the mile (4:30.53).

Field:
  • Peter Gubka finished 22nd in the high jump with a jump of 5’10.


Franklin Girls Track:
  • The 4x400m relay team of Gwenyth Holland, Phoebe Cuneo, Callie Joyce, and Maddie Bruno placed third in a time of 4:07.80.
  • Gwenyth Holland ran a personal best and league-leading time to place fifth in the 1000m (2:59.73).
  • In the 600m, Maddie Bruno placed sixth in a time of 1:39.42. Reenad Osman finished 24th in a time of 1:51.92.
  • The 4x800m relay team of Victoria Courtright-Lim, Stella Nappa, Keelan Donnelly, and Savannah Copeland placed sixth in a time of 9:55.40.
  • The 4x200m relay team of Jossie Camp, Phoebe Cuneo, Penelope Brady, and Callie Joyce placed eighth in a time of 1:48.97.
  • Stella Nappa ran a personal best and league-leading time to finish ninth in the mile (5:12.74). Victoria Courtright-Lim also ran a personal best to finish 10th (5:24.34).
  • In the 55-meter hurdles, Phoebe Cuneo (9.24), Jossie Camp (9.72), and Sadie Kent (9.91) finished 10th, 20th, and 23rd.
Field:
  • In the long jump, Jossie Camp finished 15th with a jump of 15’8.

Hockomock Sports: "Hockomock League Championships: Highlights & Top Performers" for Franklin High School

Championship season is in full swing. The Hockomock Championship is the biggest meet of the season in the league. There were some outstanding performances as multiple meet records fell.


BOYS:
Franklin  Track:
  • In the 55-meter dash, Peter Gubka ran the third fastest time in the prelims (6.68). Stephon Reed Jr ran a season’s best to qualify in eighth (6.80). Gubka ran a personal best and league leading time to win the finals (6.57). Reed placed eighth (6.88). Micah Feldman ran a personal best to finish 21st (7.11).
  • In the 55-meter hurdles, Peter Gubka was second in both the prelims and in the finals (7.80/7.89). Caleb Keras (9.93) and Daniel Oliveria (10.54) finished 20th and 23rd.
  • Kyle Twomey placed second in the mile with a time of 4:34.15. Ryan O’Connor (4:54.48) and Eric Leitch (5:08.47) ran personal bests to finish ninth and 17th.
  • The 4x800m relay team of Nicholas Mitchell, Ethan Riley, Andrew Scotland, and Kyle Twomey placed second in a time of 8:36.02.
  • The 4x200m relay team of Owen Bertoldi, Peter Theodorou, Micah Feldman, and Stephon Reed Jr placed fifth in a time of 1:35.18.
  • The 4x400m relay team of Tucker Morin, Andrew Bairos, Andrew Rontiris, and Ryan O’Connor finished ninth in a time of 3:46.06.
  • Sawyer Laing ran a personal best to finish 10th in the two mile (10:29.95). Adam Peng (10:45.30) and Tyler Anderson (10:52.20) finished 14th and 16th.
  • In the 600m, Andrew Rontiris (1:29.22) and Andrew Bairos (1:33.43) ran personal bests to finish 11th and 16th. Tucker Morin was 14th in a time of 1:32.41.
  • In the 1000m, Shravan Dev finished 19th in a time of 3:01.83. Samuel Diehl (3:01.94) and Keith DCosta (3:05.09) ran personal bests to finish 20th and 21st.
  • In the 300m, Peter Theodorou finished 20th in a time of 39.10. Jack Marshall ran a personal best to finish 22nd (39.68). Bhuvan Patchala finished 32nd in a time of 42.29.
Field:
  • Peter Gubka jumped a personal best to place fourth in the high jump (6’0). Stephon Reed Jr placed sixth with a jump of 5’8. Caleb Keras finished 19th with a jump of 5’2.
  • In the shot put, Matthew Lord placed eighth with a throw of 43’6.50. Jackson Bartro finished 11th with a throw of 39’6.50. Anthony Ridgeway finished 24th with a throw of 32’7.25.
  • Owen Bertoldi jumped a personal best to finish 14th in the long jump (17’11.50). Micah Feldman (16’6) and Jack Marshall (15’9) finished 23rd and 26th.
GIRLS:
Franklin Track:

  • Maddie Bruno ran a personal best and league leading time to win the 600m (1:38.92). Reenad Osman ran a personal best to finish 11th (1:49.69). Penelope Brady finished 17th in a time of 1:56.96.
  • Gwenyth Holland ran a personal best and league leading time to win the 1000m (3:01.75). Victoria Courtright-Lim (3:08.83) and Ameera Mathur (3:35.58) ran personal bests to place third and eighth.
  • Stella Nappa ran a personal best and league leading time to win the mile (5:20.51). Savannah Copeland ran a season’s best to place fourth (5:34.20). Aleksandra Ignatova finished 13th in a time of 6:08.54.
  • The 4x400m relay team of Gwenyth Holland, Phoebe Cuneo, Callie Joyce, and Maddie Bruno won the meet in a league leading time of 4:07.30.
  • The 4x800m relay team of Savannah Copeland, Keelan Donnelly, Stella Nappa, and Victoria Courtright-Lim won the meet in a time of 10:04.46.
  • The 4x200m relay team of Jossie Camp, Penelope Brady, Julia Matteson, and Isabelle Oteri placed fourth in a time of 1:50.84.
  • In the 55-meter hurdles, Phoebe Cuneo ran a personal best to qualify in third (9.20). Sadie Kent qualified in eighth in a time of 9.85. Cuneo placed fifth in the finals (9.26), while Kent ran a personal best to place eighth (9.75). Jossie Camp finished ninth in a time of 9.86.
  • Annabelle Santiago placed eighth in the two mile in a time of 12:49.58. Hannah Dulong finished 10th in a time of 13:09.48. Violet Copeland ran a personal best to finish 13th (13:23.05).
  • In the 300m, Phoebe Cuneo finished 11th in a time of 44.00. Isabelle Oteri (44.93) and Penelope Brady (45.34) ran personal bests to finish 13th and 17th.
  • In the 55-meter dash, Lydia Donnelly finished 26th in a time of 8.30. Madeline MacDougall ran a personal best to finish 30th (8.41). Meghan Markarian ran a season’s best to finish 33rd (8.79).
Field:
  • Jossie Camp (16’0) and Callie Joyce (15’8.25) jumped personal bests to place fifth and sixth in the long jump. Julia Matteson finished 19th with a jump of 13’4.50.
  • In the high jump, Meghan Markarian finished 11th with a jump of 4’6. Julia Matteson jumped a personal best of 4’4 to finish 16th. Callie Joyce finished 18th with a jump of 4’2.
  • In the shot put, Lydia Donnelly finished 13th with a throw of 26’9.50. Monica McIntyre threw a personal best to finish 14th (26’5). Jocelyn Buchanio finished 18th with a throw of 25’8.50.

MSTCA Coaches Invitational Highlights and Top Performers: Franklin High School

"The MSTCA Coaches Invitational is the biggest and the most competitive invitationals of the season. Some great performances as teams are tuning up for championship season, starting with the Hockomock Championship in two weeks.

Here are the highlights from the Hockomock teams competing."


Franklin
  • Peter Gubka was the fastest qualifier in the 55-meter hurdles prelims (7.76) and fifth fastest in the 55-meter dash prelims (6.65). He finished third in the hurdles (7.66) and sixth in the dash finals (6.60).
  • Kyle Twomey ran a personal best in the mile to finish 21st (4:32.53).
  • Tucker Morin ran a season’s best to finish 46th in the 600m (1:29.55).
  • The 4x800m relay team of Gwenyth Holland, Victoria Courtright-Lim, Savannah Copeland, and Maddie Bruno won the meet with a league-leading time (9:36.38).
  • The 4x200m relay team of Callie Joyce, Isabella Oteri, Penelope Brady, and Julia Matteson finished seventh (1:50.03).
  • Jossie Camp finished 16th in the 55-meter hurdles (9.48) and 34th in the 55-meter dash (7.66).
  • Savannah Copeland ran a personal best in the 600m to finish 33rd (1:46.31).

Indoor Track: Attleboro vs. Franklin
Boys Score: Attleboro 68, Franklin 32
  • Attleboro clinched the Hockomock Kelley-Rex Division title with the win over Franklin. The Blue Bombardiers capped a dominant regular season, establishing themselves as the team to beat on the boys side.
  • Franklin’s Peter Gubka won both the 55-meter dash (6.60) and the 55-meter hurdles, setting a league-leading time, personal best, and school record in the hurdles (7.60). Fareed Oseni was second in a personal best (7.65), while Brandon Souza placed third in a personal best (8.44).
  • Attleboro swept the 300m with Jacob Fairweather (37.18), Jabriel Ismail (38.00), and Alexander Rose (38.28) all setting personal bests.
  • Edgar Esquivel won the 600m in a season’s best (1:26.64). Franklin’s Andrew Rontiris (1:30.53) and Ethan Riley (1:33.77) set personal bests for second and third.
  • Cameron Santos won the 1000m in a personal best (2:51.28). Franklin’s Ryan O’Connor placed third in a personal best (2:57.61).
  • Franklin’s Kyle Twomey won the mile in a season’s best (4:37.50). Camden Martin placed second (4:39.08), and Daniel Marin was third in a personal best (4:53.32).
  • Camden Martin also won the 2 mile in a season’s best (10:31.64). Franklin’s Sawyer Laing ran a personal best for second (10:34.31), while Tyler Anderson placed third (10:50.85).
  • Attleboro swept both relays (1:37.06, 3:37.27).
  • In the field, Noah Williams won the shot put with a season’s best throw over 55 feet (55’3.25). Franklin’s Matthew Lord (44’6) and Jackson Bartro (42’11.75) set personal bests.
  • Mathius Cineus won the long jump (20’8), while Braiden Carrico and Jayshawn Crosby set personal bests for second and third (20’3.50).
  • Nathan Chery won the high jump with a personal best and league-leading mark of 6’1. Peter Gubka placed third (5’8).
Girls Score: Franklin 68, Attleboro 32
  • Phoebe Cuneo and Jossie Camp set personal bests to go one-two in the 55-meter hurdles (9.30, 9.43). S’staarr Parham was third (9.56).
  • Jossie Camp won the 55-meter dash (7.81). Victoria Zaldivia and Keilona Kennedy-Latham placed second and third for Attleboro (7.97, 8.09).
  • Phoebe Cuneo ran a personal best to win the 300m (43.17), with Jazmyn Brederson second in a season’s best (43.55).
  • Franklin swept the 600m and 1000m. Maddie Bruno won the 600m (1:42.28), while Gwenyth Holland won the 1000m in a season’s best (3:10.18).
  • Reenad Osman ran a personal best in the 600m (1:50.94), and Ameera Mathur set a personal best in the 1000m (3:37.49), with both placing third.
  • Stella Nappa won the mile in a personal best (5:34.89). Savannah Copeland placed second (5:35.33), while Olivia Killingsworth was third in a personal best (5:59.09).
  • Annabelle Santiago and Hannah Dulong swept the 2 mile, both setting personal bests (12:48.21, 13:08.66). Alexa Frackelton was third (13:19.53).
  • Attleboro won the 4x200m relay (1:50.23), while Franklin won the 4x400m relay in a league-leading time (4:12.91).
  • In the field, S’staarr Parham won both the long jump (15’11) and high jump, setting a personal best, league lead, and school record in the high jump (5’6.25).
  • Franklin’s Callie Joyce set a personal best to place second in the high jump (4’10), while Jossie Camp was second in the long jump (15’6).
  • Avery Graziosi won the shot put for Attleboro (28’6.50). Jocelyn Buchanio placed second for Franklin in a personal best (26’3.50).
