Karen! Yes! Karen!

Karen!
Yes! Karen!

by Pete Fasciano, Executive Director 09/20/2020

An outdoor sendoff. This was ‘Group One’ of three gatherings to wish Karen! all the very best as she retires. Why the exclamation mark after – Karen! (?) Simple. She earned it. When you make a mark you deserve a mark. Karen! created a special place in Franklin’s Senior Center and in our hearts. Karen! will be missed.

Period.

And – as always –
Thank you for listening to wfpr●fm.
And, thank you for watching.

In the News: "Franklin names Nancy Danello to serve as temporary town clerk until 2021 municipal election"

From the Milford Daily News, articles of interest for Franklin:

"Because state law governs both the temporary and permanent replacement of town clerks, Hellen appointed Danello to fulfill the role on a temporary basis until the next regularly scheduled municipal election, which is scheduled for Nov. 2, 2021.

There is no statutory provision to allow for a special election to fill the position, Hellen explained in his letter.

“Ms. Danello has my full confidence to lead the Town Clerk’s Office through the upcoming elections,” Hellen wrote. “At this critical juncture, it is essential to have someone lead the upcoming elections who is familiar with the town and has the local experience of our elections system, staff and town geography. In meetings with her this week to debrief and evaluate the most recent state primary, I am confident the appropriate measures will be taken to ensure there will not be a repeat of that event and that every ballot will be processed and counted on time and within the parameters set out by state statute governing elections.”
