Franklin Public Schools: Two Hour Delay to the opening of schools today

A message from FRANKLIN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

Good Morning,
Due to cold and icy conditions there will be a two hour delay for all schools on Tuesday February 10th.
There will be no morning Pre-School.
Central Office and School Offices will open at the regular time.
The DPW and Facilities have worked tirelessly to ensure that roads and school parking lots are cleared and sanded.
Remember that emergency busing will be available for walkers.  I urge all drivers to take it slowly and be vigilant.
Stay safe!

Franklin Public Schools: Update - there is school Tuesday, Feb 10th

A message from FRANKLIN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

Dear Franklin Families and School Staff,
After consulting with the DPW and Facilities Department I anticipate that schools will be open and in session as scheduled on Tuesday February 10th.
Roads and parking lots have been plowed and treated and are in as good shape as can be expected given the record-breaking snowfall we have experienced in the past couple of weeks.
Should anything change with this crazy New England weather that requires a cancellation or a delay, I will send something out by 5:00 AM tomorrow morning.
We will continue to make emergency transportation available for students who typically walk to school.  Please contact your child's school to discuss your child's arrival/dismissal plan.
Please remember that we need to obtain written permission from a parent or guardian in order to let children ride the bus who ordinarily do not do so. As sidewalks are not plowed, this service will be in place for the remainder of the week.
As always, parents are in the best position to make decisions about how your child will get to school.  With this unprecedented additional snow piled onto the already existing snow, the snow banks are quite high and roads are slippery so please take extra precautions.
For FHS students who may be driving to school, please allow extra time as roads are narrow and speed should be reduced.  Please be vigilant for pedestrians and other cars.  Parking at the high school continues to be limited based on the amount of snow, and carpooling is recommended.
Many thanks to the DPW and Facilities staff and administration who continue to work tirelessly to maintain our roads and school campuses to ensure the safety of the Franklin community.
Thank you for your continued patience and support during this unprecedented winter.
Respectfully,
Sally Winslow

MBTA Update: Starting today: Commuter Rail, Subway and Subway service suspension

While it may get frustrating, we are living in historic times. The weather is unprecedented and the ripple effects through our lives, both business and personal, are still rolling. My wife and I had talked of the Blizzard of '78 (which we grew up with) and until now, our children had not seen as much snow as we did then. And they are seeing more than we did then!

All MBTA rail services will be suspended at 7:00 p.m on Monday, Feb 9 and from start to end of service on Tuesday, Feb 10. This means no Subway, Trolleys or Commuter Rail trains will depart Boston after 7:00 p.m.
All MBTA rail services will be suspended at 7:00 p.m on Monday, February 9 and from start to end of service on Tuesday, February 10. This means no Subway, Trolleys or Commuter Rail trains will depart Boston after 7:00 p.m.
Limited MBTA bus service will continue until the end of regular service hours and from start to end of service on Tuesday, February 10, but customers are advised that connections to subway and Commuter Rail lines will not be available.

Greetings!

ALTHOUGH THIS IS EXTREMELY HARD TO IMAGINE AT THIS TIME....

CLOSING ALL DAY
We have tried to make the right decision so please don't shoot the messenger.  With the duration of this storm, we have to follow the recommendations of the state and the meteorologists. No one is perfect, but we try to do our best.  It is unfortunate that we have to do this but we find it is the best interest of safety that we do not open at all today, Monday, February 9, 2015.  If you need a workout to do in order to maintain your fitness level, mother nature has provided you with a cardio/strength experience of moving the snow from one place to another. If that is not enough, feel free to email us and we will be happy to supply you with a variety of exercises to fit your needs.

WE WILL BE OPENING AT 5:00 AM TOMORROW,- Tuesday, February 10, 2015- HOLDING REGULAR CLASSES AND CLOSING AT 9:00 PM.

Be safe and warm.

Snow Melting Troubles
Hello and my apologies for sending another email to you in the month.

However I've thought it is my responsibility to inform you that due to the extreme amounts of snow fall this winter,  my showroom has taken the hit.

Lots of snow melting causing severe water damage to our facility..The good news is that event has pushed us to find an even better location to accommodating our growing company.

Inevitably some delays returning calls and scheduling jobs will occur since we are dealing with insurance, clean-up and real estate hunting..Did I mention we are still busy selling shades too?

Thanks again for your support over the years and your understanding while we are passing this bumpy road.

More to come...Meanwhile take a look at some of the photos.

United Regional Young Professionals Organization Raises Funds To Benefit Children’s Advocacy Center Of Bristol County

Each quarter the United Regional Young Professionals Organization (YPO) selects a deserving local charity to support. Half of monthly event admission fees, on-site donations, and other contributions are collected and given back to the community charities that need them most.
The Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County (CAC) was selected as the local charity to be supported by the YPO’s quarterly fundraising efforts to end 2014. The Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County is a child centered facility to assist child victims of abuse and their families. Their team of professionals come together to investigate allegations of abuse and assist families in the healing process. From forensic interviews and health services to community resources and general advocacy, the CAC assists families in their time of need.
The CAC’s Executive Director, Michelle Loranger expressed her appreciation to the YPO by saying, “We are grateful for the partnership and support of United Regional YPO for supporting our mission of helping abused children who need their voice and advocacy.”

TeamFitness - The email you've all been waiting for.....

February 2015
Another Snow Email from
Team Fitness and CrossFit Franklin!

Someday we may find humor in all this.
But as of now, we find it extremely frustrating. As we have tried to find a basis on making this decision in a wise manor, we waited on the Franklin Schools and their decision to cancel school on Monday, February 9, 2015.

So, we have decided to remain closed in the morning and will examine the situation as the day progresses for a later in the day opening (that is if the roads, parking and weather cooperate). Please visit our Facebook pages for updates and another email blast will be sent with a final decision on the afternoon.

Keep warm, dry and take care with shoveling,
