Congress established the John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor in 1986 to restore and preserve the nationally significant heritage of the Blackstone River Valley, where the industrialization of America began.
The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, Inc. has created a successful program of partnerships between federal, state and local government agencies, as well as nongovernment organizations, pooling their resources and pursuing a common agenda of preservation and revitalization.
You may have participated in some of our programs. Maybe you attended one of our Ranger Walkabouts or participated in the Greenway Challenge or helped with a river cleanup. Ultimately, your help and support will help us to secure the necessary funding to continue our work in the Blackstone River Valley. Please contact your state Senator in support of the National Heritage Areas. Let them know the Blackstone Heritage Corridor, Inc. should continue its presence in the Blackstone River Valley, bringing you the programs and projects you value and enjoy. Ask your state Senator to include the National Heritage Areas in the Massachusetts state budget. Find Your State Senator: |
