MyFM’s Quest for the Best
by Pete Fasciano, Executive Director 09/15/2024
On Thursday evening, we joined Milford’s WMRC MyFM to support their annual gala to crown the ‘Quest for the Best’ across a variety of small business categories. Radio station? Local shop? Law office? Real estate agent? Every local business, (many often family owned) strives mightily every day to be valued by customers and community – to make a positive difference while making enough to get by.
That sentiment – recognition and support for local businesses – is at the center of MyFM’s philosophy. Per the FCC’s mandate, broadcasters have an obligation to serve their communities, ‘in the public interest, convenience and necessity’. Work hard to do well by doing good. This is why MyFM has been recognized for fourteen straight years by peer members of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association as the best small local station in Massachusetts. Well deserved.
This year MyFM’s fourth annual Quest for the Best gala at Milford’s DoubleTree Hilton filled the grand ballroom with 450 local business owners in attendance. There were well beyond 600,000 independently audited votes to determine the winners. A huge community response.
Big? Small? Doesn’t matter. It’s about being the best.
Congratulations to MyFM and to all of the winners.
