State Rep. Jeff Roy was thrilled to join MassMEP in honoring John Berg of Carpe Diem Technologies in Franklin with the John “Jack” Healy Innovation Award in recognition of his outstanding dedication to strengthening and advancing manufacturing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MassMEP was also recognized for its 30 years of service and dedication to strengthening manufacturing across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Berg is a trusted leader in the Commonwealth’s manufacturing community, having served two consecutive terms on the MassMEP Board of Directors, including two years as Board Chair, where his vision and steady hand helped guide the organization’s mission to strengthen Massachusetts manufacturers.

In 2018, Carpe Diem Technologies was awarded a $2.1 million Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2) grant to establish a statewide ecosystem for nanoimprinted microstructures supporting flexible hybrid electronics, positioning Massachusetts at the leading edge of next-generation advanced manufacturing.

Today, John continues to push the boundaries of what is possible on the shop floor, integrating artificial intelligence and NVIDIA Jetson Nano edge-computing platforms to deliver real-time quality inspection and process control, work that exemplifies the kind of bold, practical innovation Jack Healy championed throughout his career.
