The Knights of Columbus 1847 St Mary Parish Franklin is accepting applications for The Robert Simmler PGK, Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council Scholarships. They are offering two scholarships, one in the sum of $3000 and the second $1000 scholarship.  

The applicants must be a registered member of St Mary’s Parish in Franklin and must be graduating from High School in Spring 2025 and progressing onto their first year of study at a 2- or 4-year college/university.  All interested applicants please submit a completed scholarship application postmarked on or before the application deadline of March 28, 2025

The Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council 1847, Franklin, MA is holding it's Annual Free Throw Contest at the Hockomock YMCA, Franklin, MA.

It will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Basketball Free Throw Contest - Jan 18

The Free Throw contest is for Girls and Boys from 9 to 14 years old.  Ask if a parent could accompany the participants.

This Free Throw event is for all of our Community contestants to participate and have fun.

The Winners will be declared after the shooting sessions and will be invited to participate at the upcoming District Competitions!

We have held the price and again this year are offering a quality pie for $18.00 per pie. It is no secret prices have increased everywhere and we worked hard to find a Quality product at a reasonable price.  

We have done our BEST to bring you a great product at the best possible price.  As was last year you will be able to DONATE a pie. All donations will be donated to the Franklin Senior Center and Franklin Food Pantry for distribution at Thanksgiving time.

KofC Scholarship Winners Announced for 2024

The Knights of Columbus 1847 Franklin are proud to announce the winners of this year's Robert Simmler PGK, Sacred Heart Council 1847 Knights of Columbus College Scholarship 2024.   Congratulations to Andrew O'Neil, $3000 and Leslie Baker $1000.

Andrew is a graduate of Franklin High School and Leslie of Montrose School.  Both of these accomplished students are active members of the St Mary's Parish Community.

Their  achievements were especially noteworthy amongst the many wonderful talented candidates that applied for the 2024 scholarship award. 

 

 

We wish Andrew the best of luck as he goes onto Providence College in the fall and Leslie will attend Cornell in the fall.

K of C 1847 Franklin announce Bonacci & Torrey as scholarship winners

The Knights of Columbus 1847 Franklin are proud to announce the winners of this year’s Robert Simmler PGK, Sacred Heart Council 1847 Knights of Columbus College Scholarship 2023.   

Congratulations to Audrey Bonacci  ($3000) and Hannah Torrey ($1000).  Audrey and Hannah are graduates of Franklin High School.  Both of these accomplished students are active members of the St Mary’s Parish Community.  

Their achievements were especially noteworthy amongst the many wonderful talented candidates that applied for the 2023 scholarship award.  

We wish Audrey best of luck as she goes onto Boston College in the fall and Hannah will attend College of the Holy Cross in the fall.

"The Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council 1847, Franklin is holding its Annual Free Throw Contest on Friday, 1/20/23. 

Registration begins at 6:00 PM and the contest follows immediately after at 6:30 PM at the Hockomock YMCA, 45 Forge Hill Road, Franklin, MA 

The event is open for boys and girls 9-14 years old as of 1/1/23 from surrounding towns. All contestants will shoot 15 free throws and are recognized for their participation in this event. 

The champs are invited to compete in the district competition which will immediately follow this event. This round contestants will shoot 25 free throws."

"The Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council 1847, Franklin is holding its Annual Free Throw Contest on Friday, 1/20/23. 

Registration begins at 6:00 PM and the contest follows immediately after at 6:30 PM at the Hockomock YMCA, 45 Forge Hill Road, Franklin, MA 

The event is open for boys and girls 9-14 years old as of 1/1/23 from surrounding towns. All contestants will shoot 15 free throws and are recognized for their participation in this event. 

The champs are invited to compete in the district competition which will immediately follow this event. This round contestants will shoot 25 free throws."

Reminder: Order your Annual Thanksgiving Day Pie from the Knights Of Columbus by Nov 13

Why bake when the Knights can do it for you?

The Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council 1847 St. Mary Parish Franklin MA is running their 5th Annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale. Our famous bakery (same as last year) is the family owned Mann’s Orchards and Bakery. The flavors will be - Apple, Pecan, Pumpkin and our new Burgundy. 

These Pies are fantastic.... outstanding flavor, aroma, and taste. The price will be $16.00 per Pie. As was last year you will be able to DONATE a pie. All donations will go to the Franklin Senior Center and the Franklin Food Pantry for distribution at Thanksgiving time.

This year there will be 2 means by which you may purchase your Thanksgiving Day pies. The site is open now till November 14. We will also be taking Pie orders in person over two weekends this year November 5, 6 and November 12-13, after all the Masses at St Mary Franklin. We will be set up in the back of the Church to take your Pie orders.

Cash, Check, or Credit Card will be accepted. On line orders are Credit Card only.

You will be able to Pick Up your order of Thanksgiving Day Pies on Tuesday, November 22, from 3 PM – 6 PM at the CCD Offices at the old St. Mary's Franklin Parish School (previously the Charter School) on the 1st floor. You will see our Signs.

We are excited again this year to bring this quality product to St Mary Parish community and all our Franklin neighbors.

Please support this most worthy cause, enjoy them on your dinner table as well as help a senior and people in need to make their Thanksgiving Day special with a Pie (or2) from Mann’s Orchard.
