Reminder: What is the ONE question would you ask of each candidate for the Town of Franklin 2023 Election?

The candidates are in their final days to gather signatures for the November 7, 2023 Biennial Town of Franklin Election. The nomination papers are due to the Town Clerk by September 6.

It is now time for us (together) to prepare the set of interview questions.

  • Which one question would you ask of a Town Council candidate? School Committee candidate? etc...

Submit one question per elected position via the form below.

Your email is required to avoid nefarious folks from interfering with this process. Your email will only be used (1) to verify the question if not completely understood, and (2) to ensure you get a copy of the final set of questions.

Note: the question set would likely be similar to prior years. We would have 3-4 questions that would generally apply to all candidates and at least 1 (maybe 2) for specific positions. I want the question set short so we (the candidates and interviewers) can proceed efficiently, and concise to provide answers so Franklin voters can make an informed choice for each elected position.

Based upon feedback obtained after the last election, every effort will be made to provide interviews in all three formats (video, audio, and text transcript). The video interview would be recorded, audio extracted, and audio transcribed. This will require the coordination and willingness of the candidates to be available for this interview to be scheduled in time to turn it all around.

-------------

The current listing of candidates as of Thursday, August 24 can be found here ->

The question set used for the candidates in 2021 ->

Special School Committee Meeting

May 16, 2023 at 6:30 PM

Municipal Building - Council Chambers

Agenda
Call to Order            Ms. Spencer
I. Candidate for Interim School Business Administrator Interview
II. Deliberation on Candidate for Interim School Business Administrator
Adjournment

Note: It has been quite a while since this circumstance has arisen but in addition to hiring the Superintendent, the School Committee is also responsible for hiring the School Business Administrator. Hence as previewed in the School Committee meeting Tuesday, May 9, this set is set up for the discussion and candidate review for the interim position.
How long has it been? Actually since 2008. In March of 2008, Miriam Goodman, who is setting to retire was interviewed and hired.
The 14 questions (2 per school committee member, 7 members) asked of the candidates at that time are still in the top 10 search results ->   https://www.franklinmatters.org/2008/03/school-business-administrator-interview.html

Franklin TV: Xmas is Coming! Srsly?

I know. I know. Way to soon. I haven’t voted yet.

Pete Fasciano, Executive Director 11/06/2022

If you work in the media ‘biz’ – especially in advertising and/or TV, then you know that Christmas media projects begin much earlier than the actual holiday season. The first wave often arrives right after the ‘back-to-school’ ads stop running. Christmas trees pop up in film studios around the country – anywhere from September onward. Years ago I produced and filmed a ‘Christmas Special’ program in July. It makes for an odd reality – a blustery snowing street scene in the studio. Outside? 85 degrees & Sunny.

We start this week at Franklin.TV producing and shooting a fun program about traditional ‘Italian Christmas Cookies’. We’re baking ‘em up in our TeeVee kitchen (Yum!) Food is involved, soooo – Happy Holidays to all! (I have no shame.)

And – it’s not even Thanksgiving yet.

= = = = = = = = = =

On Tuesday – a big Vote Day. Although it’s a mid-term election, there are four big questions on the ballot. If you didn’t receive a red ‘Voter info’ booklet –

You can search – ‘MA ballot questions’. The top result link is below.

The MA Secretary of State’s Office has all you need to know*. Big recommend.
You can review the legislative language, as well as 150-word arguments pro & con.

These are issues that affect us at home. Browse & Learn. It’s worth your time.

And – as always –
Thank you for listening to wfpr●fm.
And, thank you for watching.

50+: Practice Interview Group News & Updates

To Acton Networker group, Tatnuck group, and several others via BCC.

If you haven't looked at my website recently, I invite you to take a look.  I made some big updates yesterday, including:
* Two new service packages--Practice Interview and Career Transition.
* Simple funnel quiz on the home page directs you to the page that addresses your answer.

* My personal news includes how I passed the Strong Interest Inventory certification test. It's a well-known and respected assessment. A lot of college career centers use it.

It's the last week of June; so this coming Wednesday (June 29th) the virtual practice interview group meets at 7pm. I've provided the Zoom link below.

Next week will be the first week of the month; so the virtual practice group will meet on Wednesday July 6th at 10am.

In addition, the virtual Framingham Library monthly group meets on Thursday July 7th at 2pm. I've provided the Zoom links below

* The first in-person practice group meeting of the year will be Wednesday July 20th, 4pm at the Framingham Public Library.

Got any questions?  Send me a note!

Have a great day.
