Harvest Festival re-scheduled for on Sunday, Oct 2 from noon to 5 PM

The Franklin Downtown Partnership is holding its annual Harvest Festival on Sunday from noon to 5 PM.

The map showing the location of vendors and activities downtown along Main St and West Central St is shared here. Page 2 is the vendor listing with where they are located by location #.

Due to the rain that is forecasted for Saturday, the FDP Harvest Festival will move to its rain date on Sunday, October 2. 

Please note that all other event logistics regarding set up times and booth locations will remain the same. 

We hope that your schedule will still allow you to participate. If you are a vendor that has a schedule conflict that will prevent you from participating in the event, please contact Harvest Festival Chair Scott Martin.

Subscribe for News October 2022 Edition Upcoming Election Information The State Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 6am-8pm at Franklin High School Gymnasium. In person early voting will take place October 22 - November 4 (with the exception of Sundays) at the Franklin Municipal Building ONLY (355 East Central Street). There will be NO in person early voting at Franklin High School. The Municipal Building in person early voting schedule is as follows... Saturday, Oct. 22: 9am - 3pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8am - 4pm Wednesdays: 8am - 6pm Fridays: 8am - 1pm Saturday, Oct. 29: 9am - 5pm Please note that Oct. 29th is the last day to register to vote. You may check or update your information via the State's Online Voter Registration tool. For additional Election information, please visit the Town Clerk's webpage. Your Energy Bill: Take a Peek Before the Peak Concerned your energy bill may increase? Franklin Municipal Aggregation Customers Aren't! With Franklin's Municipal Aggregation program, you don't have to worry. Residents who did not opt-out of our Municipal Aggregation program will NOT see an increase in the our contracted price of $0.10725 per kilowatt, which will remain through November 2023. Not sure if you opted out? Take a peek at your energy bill before peak energy usage increases over i the Winter. While National Grid delivers our energy, it is the supplier that we have contracted our pricing with that makes all the difference. To find out if you're opted in, spot the extra column on your bill titled "Other Supplier Services" under your account balance section of your bill. Department of Public Works DPW Touch A Truck Join the Franklin DPW for their Touch A Truck event on October 15 from 10am-2pm (rain date October 16). The event will feature a variety of various town trucks as well as some food trucks available. The Hydrant Painting winner will be announced during this event at noon. To be held 25 Public Works Way in Franklin! Did someone say..."discounted compost bins"? The Town of Franklin Solid Waste Division is offering a limited amount of discounted residential compost bins to the residents of Franklin. This offer is supported by a grant awarded through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Sustainable Materials Recovery Program.  Reach out to the Environmental Affairs Coordinator Derek Adams for more information. First come, first serve! Franklin Public Schools  Franklin Public Schools celebrated a successful start to the 22-23 school year. Special thank you to our Faculty as well as our Franklin Fire and Police departments for their assistance in coordinating safety drills and lockdowns across the district. The Franklin School Committee will be at Harvest Fest on October 2 from 12pm-5pm. Visit their booth located in front of Rockland Trust. They'll have magnet calendars to giveaway. There is a limited supply so be sure to snag yours before they run out! Franklin Public Library Event Highlights! October 5 - A Wizards Mystery Party The Wands of Procyon have been stolen and we need your help to find them! Question the suspects and put your detective skills to the test! Ideal for ages 8+. Begins at 1pm October 22 - Trunk or Treat: Families! Dress up and join us from 10:30am -12:30pm in the library parking lot for a safe, little-kid friendly afternoon of trick-or-treating in the daylight! In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors! October 27 - Community Conversations All are welcome to join us the last Thursday of each month at 6pm to unpack, discuss, and engage with topics relevant both within our community and beyond. Come with an open mind, leave with plenty of food for thought! October topic: The Politics of Book Banning. Remote participation is available by registering via this link. Library Hours The Library's hours are Monday through Thursday, 9am - 8pm, Friday and Saturday, 9am - 5pm. Sunday hours are 1:30pm - 5pm. The library will be closed on Monday, October 11 for Indigenous People's Day. Library Calendar of Events - October 2022 Free Family Fun in Franklin! The Franklin Downtown Partnership will host its 19th annual Harvest Festival downtown on October 2 from 12pm-5pm. There will be vendor booths, entertainment, food, kids activities, balloon art, specials from downtown merchants, artwork and crafts. Looking to volunteer? The event will include multiple live performances, local vendors, health screenings, local health resources, exhibitors, free Night Owl Farm produce, food trucks, activities for kids, raffles & freebies, and much more!  The Franklin Conservation Commission invites you to attend the DelCarte Fall Gathering on October 22 from 9am - 12pm. Activities include pumpkin painting, a Woods Walk, a meet and greet with Soil and Wetland Scientists, and more! The Franklin Fire Department will host their annual Open House on October 29 from 10am - 2pm at their Head Quarters at 40 West Central St.! Veterans' Services & Senior Center Senior Center October 1-27 - Join us for a month long murder mystery at the Senior Center! Each week new clues arrive and you can become the detective you've always wanted to be! Submit who killed Mr. Noah Opinion by October 27! October 6 - Get together at 4:30pm for a relaxing night out, you bring your friends, we'll bring the pasta. Together, we'll watch the new Marilyn Monroe Movie. $3/person. Call to register by October 5. October 12 - Pathways to Healing Monthly Bereavement Group will meet at 1:30pm. The goal is to help you on your journey of healing after a loved one passes. October 20 – Veterans' Council Meeting - 7 pm at the Senior Center. Tune It Out Guitar Classes – Free weekly classes for veterans are held Tuesdays at 5:30pm at the Senior Center. No guitar experience needed. RSVP – Rides for Veterans Program is looking for volunteer drivers to drive veterans to medical appointments. Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed at $.40 per mile up to $300 per month. This is a flexible volunteer program. Drivers have the option of providing one or two-way rides and can say no when called and choose to provide a ride when it works with their schedule. The Franklin Downtown Partnership invites you to attend the 19th annual Harvest Festival downtown on Sunday, October 2 from 12 PM - 5 PM. There will be more than 160 vendor booths, entertainment, food, kids activities, balloon art, specials from downtown merchants, artwork and crafts! 

The event is free and open to all.

ROAD CLOSURE:  Residents can expect closures of Main Street from Rt.140 to Emmons Street, parts of Dean Ave, and parts of Depot Street from 11am - 6pm.
