"Robert “Brutus” Cantoreggi has decided to stay on as Franklin’s public works director after opting out of an offer to become town administrator in Norfolk.
He was in contract negotiations with Norfolk and set to take the job there next month. But after consulting with his family and hearing how upset some Franklin residents were about his possible departure, he had a change of heart.
“I really think it’s best for my family that I stay in Franklin,” said Cantoreggi, who lives in Millis. “It’s just a job I love, and sometimes that’s how it works. I’m just more comfortable staying here in Franklin.”
Cantoreggi said he would remain Franklin’s DPW director “as long as they want to keep me.”
