His articulate guitar playing compliments his superb lyrics on songs that are romantic, cosmic, poetic, haunting in their imagery, or hilarious. Many well known artists have recorded and/or performed his songs, including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Nanci Griffith, Mary Black and Maura O'Connell.
