"A national shipping company is preparing to close its Massachusetts facility and cut its full staff of 112 workers.

Postal Center International is closing its Franklin warehouse at 29 Hayward St. due to “unforeseeable business circumstances,” according to a Massachusetts Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notice filed with the state on Aug. 13. The layoffs were expected to begin that day and continue through Sept. 30.

The 112 positions being eliminated include drivers, managers, dispatch workers, machine technicians and other employees.

Postal Center International, based in Weston, Florida, started as a courier service in 1984, according to its website, and later expanded to provide mail services across the country. The Franklin site serves as the headquarters for the company’s Northeast operations."
