BSI Construction Update for the Week of July 15!

Monday (7/15) - Friday (7/19) the construction crew will continue work on Rt. 140 at the Grove Street intersection between the hours of 7am - 4pm. Expect lane closures as the work progresses.

Continuing on Monday (7/15) thru Wednesday (7/17) between 7am to 5pm, the cleaning and lining of the existing Beaver Street Interceptor will be occurring on Hayward Street from Fisher Street to the Moseley Mill. During this time by-pass pumping will be set up and those affected will be notified.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with excavation of the pump station within the sheet pile area.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with the driving of the sheeting.

BSI Construction Update for the Week of July 1!

Happy 4th of July!!

Starting Monday (7/1) thru Wednesday (7/3) between 7am to 5pm, the cleaning and lining of the existing Beaver Street Interceptor will be occurring on Hayward Street from Fisher Street to the Moseley Mill.   During this time by-pass pumping will be set up and should not cause any service disruptions.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue this week. There is a new way in and out of the Recreation Center, please follow the posted signage. During times of drop off and pickup backup onto Beaver Street may occur.

No work will be occurring on July 4th and 5th.

Attention: Recreation Dept Offices Closed Friday, June 28; Operating Remotely

"Due to on-going construction at Franklin Recreation Department, 275 Beaver Street, our offices will be closed on Friday, June 28.  
Power to our building will be cut early on Friday and will be restored by Monday, July 1, by 8:30 AM.  
We will be working remotely from 8:30-1:30 PM on Friday and residents can email us with any questions at: franklinrecreation@franklinma.gov We apologize for any inconvenience."

Monday (6/24) - Friday (6/28) the construction crew will conduct test pits on Rt. 140 from Old West Central to Beaver Street, on Beaver Street from Rt. 140 to the Recreation Center and on Fisher Street.  Between the hours of 7am - 4pm expect lane closures on Rt. 140 at the Grove Street intersection, Rt. 140, Beaver Street, and Fisher Street as this work progresses.

for the Week of June 17th!

Monday (6/17) - Friday (6/21) the construction crew will be moving over to Rt. 140 at Grove Street to start construction of the new sewer main that will be crossing from Grove St, through Rt. 140 onto West Central Street. Expect lane closures on Rt. 140 at the Grove Street intersection as this work progresses.  

Also, there will be a limited crew working inside sewer manholes on Old West Central from Pond Street to Tri-County Drive (behind Starbucks).  Only lane shifts might be required and access to the adjacent medical buildings and residences along this area will not be impacted.

BSI Construction Update for the Week of June 10th!

Monday (6/10) - Friday (6/14) the construction crew will be back on Old West Central from Pond Street to Tri County Drive (behind Starbucks) to complete the sewer installation and conduct the final trench pavement.  A detour through Tri-County Drive will be in place on Tuesday (6/11) thru Friday (6/14) from 7:30am until 5:00pm. Residential traffic only on Pond St., Rolling Ridge Rd., Hilltop Rd.
and part of Old West Central St.

During this construction phase, the adjacent medical building remains accessible, though Starbucks will be accessible via 140 only. Access to this area may look different as work continues. We are working with school staff to ensure safety.

Also during the week minor work will continue on the dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing. Those residents should continue to follow the posted signs for directions on exiting and entering.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue this week. There is a new way in and out of the Recreation Center, please follow the posted signage. During times of drop off and pickup backup onto Beaver Street may occur.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE WEEK OF MAY 27:

No Work on Monday May 27th - Memorial Day - Remember and Honor those who serve our country!

On Tuesday 5/28/2024, the Contractor will be performing water transfers to the new water main located on Old West Central from Tri County Drive to Dunkin Donuts.  Those residents affected by this will be notified and will have a temporary water service interruption with the potential for no water service to your property between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

Work will continue on the dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing.  Between the hours of 7am to 4pm the dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing will continue to be closed at Tri-County Drive.  Those residents should continue to follow the posted signs for directions on exiting and entering. 

Starting Wednesday (5/29), the installation of sewer main on Rt. 140 from Dunkin Donuts towards Wendy's will begin.   This work will occur during the day between the hours of 9am and 3PM.   Expect lane shifts/closures and traffic delays due to active roadwork.

Starting Tuesday night (5/28), the cleaning and lining of the existing Beaver Street Interceptor will be occurring on Cottage Street from Union to Saxon.  

On Wednesday night (5/29), the cleaning and lining crew will be working in the easement between Hayward Street and Beaver Street behind Master Drive. This work will occur at night, during times of low flow, between the hours of 9pm and 5am.  

Work will also continue within the sewer easement between Pond Street and the Brookview Condos.  The cleaning and lining of the existing 24-inch Beaver Street Interceptor is complete and the contractor will be removing the by-pass pump system. Those residents that will be affected by this work have been notified.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE WEEK OF MAY 20:

On Monday (5/20) the Construction crew will be conducting trench paving work on Rt. 140.   This work will occur between the hours of 9am and 3PM.   
Expect lane shifts/closures and traffic delays due to active roadwork.

Starting on Wednesday (5/22), Eversource Gas will be working on Beaver Street in front of the Recreation Center to relocate the existing gas service and prepare the new gas services for the future Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station.  Expect lane shifts/closures and traffic delays due to active roadwork.

Work will continue on the dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing.  Between the hours of 7am to 4pm the dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing will continue to be closed at Tri-County Drive.  Those residents should continue to follow the posted signs for directions on exiting and entering. 

Work will also continue within the sewer easement between Pond Street and the Brookview Condos.  The contractor will be setting up a by-pass pump system to prepare for the cleaning and lining of the existing 24-inch Beaver Street Interceptor. Those residents that will be affected by this work have been notified.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

The contractor has made great progress this week, so starting Monday April 8th Old West Central between Rt. 140 to Pond Street will be back open to two way traffic. The dead end section of Old West Central serving Ledgewood Condominiums and Franklin Crossing will continue to be closed at Tri-County Drive.  Those residents will continue to use the right hand turn only detour onto Rt 140 by the
Dunkin Donuts. 

For Monday only, the entrance to Tri-County Drive at Old West Central will remain closed.  All Tri-County traffic will need to enter and exit via the Pond Street Entrance.

BEAVER ST: RECYCLING CENTER UPDATES

Open Regular Hours This Weekend 
  • FRI, MARCH 29 -- 8 AM TO 3 PM 
  • SAT, MARCH 30 -- 8 AM TO 3 PM 
  • SUN, MARCH 31 -- 9 AM TO 1 PM

Beginning April 1 regulars will be
  • TUE, Noon to 3 PM
  • FRI, 8 AM to 3 PM
  • SAT, 8 AM to PM
  • SUN, 9 AM to 1 PM

Reminder: detour starting Monday, March 25 for Beaver St interceptor construction

Reminder: detour starting Monday, March 25 for Beaver St interceptor construction
Reminder: detour starting Monday, March 25 
Starting Monday, March 25 a detour through Tri-County Drive will be in place.

Residential traffic only on Pond St., Rolling Ridge Rd., Hilltop Rd. and part of Old West Central St. The detour will be in place Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM.

During this construction phase, the adjacent medical building remains accessible, though Starbucks will be accessible via 140 only. Access to this area may look different as work continues. We are working with school staff to ensure safety.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

Starting Monday March 25th a detour through Tri-County Drive will be in place. Residential traffic only on Pond St., Rolling Ridge Rd., Hilltop Rd. and part of Old West Central St. The detour will be in place Monday thru Thursday from 7:30am until 5:00pm.

During this construction phase, the adjacent medical building remains accessible, though Starbucks will be accessible via 140 only. Access to this area may look different as work continues. We are working with school staff to ensure safety.
