Construction Update to Beaver St. Interceptor Project for week of March 24 - 28

Monday (3/24) through Friday (3/28): The construction crew will be conducting the jack and bore trenchless installation of the new sewer under Rte. 140. The work will be occurring off the road at 38 Pond St. and within the Franklin Village Mall area. No traffic impacts are expected.

Monday (3/24): The contractor will be clearing trees/brush along West Central St. and Corporate Drive, one lane road will be in effect with a police detail present. No road closures or detours expected.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with excavation of the launching chamber, civil work within the site, and mechanical work within the pump room.

Monday (3/17) through Friday (3/21): The construction crew will be conducting the jack and bore trenchless installation of the new sewer under Rte. 140. The work will be occurring off the road at 38 Pond St. and within the Franklin Village Mall area. No traffic impacts are expected.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with removal of formwork, damp proofing of the concrete and backfilling of the structure. Trench support sheets will be removed as well, this operation will produce a high level of noise in the area, residents are advised that this is typical of the work being performed and not a cause for concern.

Monday (1/20) - Friday (1/24): Depending on contractor availability and weather there is the potential that Grove Street will be closed at the MBTA train tracks between the hours of 7am - 4pm. Traffic turning onto Grove Street from Rt. 140 will be detoured over to Beaver Street via Rt. 140. Please follow posted detour signs for directions.

Beaver Street Interceptor (BSI) Construction Update for the Week of January 6th!

Monday (1/6) - Friday (1/10): The construction crew will be preparing for and starting the jack and bore trenchless installation of the sewer under Rt. 140.  The work will be occurring off the road at 38 Pond Street and within the Franklin Village Mall Area.  No traffic impacts are expected. 

Wednesday (1/8) - Friday (1/10):  The construction crew will be conducting test pits and preparatory work for the future jack and bore locations on Fisher Street and Grove St.  Limited traffic impacts are expected.  Motorists are asked to please follow the directions of the detail officers.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with concrete placement.

BSI Construction Update for the Week of December 16th!

Monday (12/16) - Friday (12/20): The construction crew will be preparing the jacking and receiving pits for the trenchless installation of the sewer under Rt. 140.  The work will be occurring off the road at 38 Pond Street and within the Franklin Village Mall Area.  No traffic impacts are expected. 

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor
Pump Station will continue with concrete form placement and rebar tying for the last section of the pump station foundation walls.

There will be limited work occurring the week of 12/23 & 12/30 for the Christmas and New Years holiday weeks.   HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Thursday (12/12) - Friday (12/13): The construction crew will be working off the road on Pond Street @ Old West Central and within the Franklin Village  Area.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with concrete form placement and rebar tying for the last section of the pump station foundation walls.

Beaver St Interceptor (BSI) Construction Update for the Week of December 2

Monday (12/2) - Friday (12/6): The construction crew will be testing the new sewer mains on Grove Street, West Central Street and Old West Central Street. Limited lane closures are possible. Please follow all posted detour/lane closure signs and be prepared for delays.
Wednesday (12/4) & Thursday (12/5): The construction crew will be installing the sewer service to 664 Old West Central. A limited detour on Rolling Ridge Rd. will be in place during this time--please follow posted detour signs for directions.
At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with concrete form placement and rebar tying for the pump station foundation walls. On Friday (12/6), a large concrete pour is scheduled, limited traffic impacts are expected on Beaver Street during this time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! (NO WORK 11/28 & 11/29)

Monday (11/25): The construction crew will be on Grove Street in the area of 25 Grove Street (near Forge Hill Rd.) working on the Grove Street sewer siphon. All work will occur on the side of the road with little to no traffic impacts.

Tuesday (11/26) - Wednesday (11/27): The construction crew will be on Rt. 140 and Old West Central working on testing of the new sewer main. Old West Central will be a one lane road in and out. Rt. 140 will have a single lane closure. Please follow all posted detour signs and be prepared for delays.

BSI Construction Update for the Week of November 11th!

Thank you to all the Veterans for your service!

Monday (11/11) - Wednesday (11/13): Beaver Street from RT. 140 (West Central Street) to the Franklin Recreation Center will be closed, see interactive map for location.
The road closure will be from 7am to 4pm, Monday thru Wednesday.

Those needing to access the businesses/properties and the Recycling Center located on that section of Beaver Street will be detoured over to Grove Street. Starting Monday 11/11, those needing access to Franklin Glass and the Franklin Recreation Center will enter Beaver Street via Rt. 140. Please follow all posted detour signs and be prepared for delays. Note that all businesses on Beaver Street remain open and accessible, please follow posted signs for access.

On Thursday 11/14 and Friday 11/15, the Construction Crew will be on Rt. 140 in front of Dunkin' Donuts. A single lane closure will be in place between 7am to 4pm.

Also on Friday 11/15, the Construction Crew will be in front of 664 Old West Central. Old West Central/Pond Street will be closed starting at Rolling Ridge to where Old West Central and Pond Street meet. The detour via Hilltop and Rolling Ridge will be in place. Please use caution in this area and follow the posted speed limit signs.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with concrete form placement and rebar tying for the pump station foundation walls.

Monday (10/28) - Friday (11/1): Beaver Street from RT. 140 (West Central Street) to the Franklin Recreation Center will be closed, see interactive map for location. The road closure will be from 7am to 4pm, Monday thru Friday.

Those needing to access Beaver Street and the businesses/properties located on that section of Beaver Street will be detoured over to Grove Street. When the contractor is able to, they will open up one way traffic from RT. 140 towards Grove Street. Please follow all posted detour signs and be prepared for delays.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with concrete form placement and rebar tying for the pump station foundation.

On Tuesday October 29th, a small concrete pour is scheduled in the morning, prior to activities starting at the Recreation Center.

BSI Construction Update for the Week of October 21st!


Monday (10/21) - Friday (10/25): There will be a construction crew working in the area of 257 Fisher Street. All construction work will be off the road in a wooded easement and work will occur between the hours of 7am-4pm. No traffic impacts are expected.

Also, Monday (10/21) - Friday (10/25): A second construction crew will be working on Old West Central Street connecting the existing sewer service laterals to the new sewer main. Please follow detour signs as the traffic pattern will change.

At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with concrete form placement and rebar tying for the pump station foundation.  On Friday October 25th, a large concrete pour is scheduled, limited traffic impacts are expected on Beaver Street during this time.

Beaver Street Interceptor Rehabilitation/Replacement Project
