Let the Music Begin!
This fall, with help and support of area residents and merchants, a new source for the performance of beautiful music will be born. A string orchestra for youth and adults is being formed under the auspices of Proctor Mansion Inn of Wrentham and LaRosa Music Services of Franklin. With their great love for music, and recognizing that the King Philip area towns lack the presence of a performance based String orchestra or ensemble, the two area businesses have joined together to create The Strings of Proctor Mansion Inn.
Instrumentation will consist of violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Music to be performed will consist of classical pieces, as well as selections from Broadway shows, and themes from contemporary movies and television programs. Three performances, sure to delight and entertain the local public, are being planned for the 2014 – 2015 season.
There will be an Open House on Saturday, September 13 2014, from 1pm to 3pm at the Proctor Mansion Inn 36 Common St. Wrentham, MA. Area residents and businesses are invited to come learn more about the new string ensemble, hear performances from students of Mr. LaRosa, register to participate in the ensemble, or become a supporter or sponsor of The Strings of Proctor Mansion Inn.
The Strings of Proctor Mansion Inn, under the direction of Rancourt LaRosa, will hold weekly rehearsals and public performances at the Proctor Mansion Inn. Ensemble registration is open to adults and youth (over age 9), with two or more years of playing experience.
Season runs from September 24th thru June 10th. Rehearsals will be held weekly on Wednesday evenings. Registration is ongoing through October 17th.
