Congratulations, Ji-Yann! Ji-Yann Chin was the 2023 recipient of the Friends of the Franklin Library Scholarship in Memory of Wilma Winters. We had the pleasure of presenting Ji-Yann with her scholarship check for $1,000 at our January meeting. Ji-Yann is loving her first year at UMASS Amherst where she majors in Microbiology and is considering a double major in Public Health with a concentration in disease prevention. In her scholarship essay, Ji-Yann wrote passionately about what gives her hope for the future. After visiting with Ji-Yann at our meeting we think she is a young leader who inspires hope for the future, and we look forward to saying "We knew her when…" The Friends wish Ji-Yann all the very best in her studies and beyond!

I Love My Local Library! February is National Library Lover's Month and what better way to show your love for the Franklin Public Library than by becoming a member of the Friends. Join us at an upcoming meeting (7pm on Wednesday, February 7th or Wednesday, March 6th) to find out how you can get involved. Don't have time to attend meetings? No worries, you can still support our mission and your library by making a direct donation to the Friends. Membership dues and donations are both tax deductible. CLICK HERE to become a Friend!
