Party for The Pantry, a Musical Fundraiser for the Franklin Food Pantry, Raises $19,000

The Franklin Food Pantry, which provides supplemental food assistance and programs in Franklin, Massachusetts, is grateful to be the recipient of the Party for The Pantry fundraising event organized by Ray Auger and Bill Donovan. The ticketed party, which took place on Friday, March 29, 2024, at GlenPhamer Distillery in Franklin raised more than $19,000 to benefit The Pantry. The evening’s entertainment included music from The Pub Kings, South Street Six, and J.P. Royer, a silent auction, and numerous raffle prizes.

Sponsors for the event included: Allegra Marketing Print Mail, Coastal Closets New England, Colonial Fence Co., Core Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, Eagle Stainless Steel, Elemen-Tree House, Franklin LGBTQ Alliance, Franklin Matters, Tim Rice Photo, UpFront Guitars, J.M. Aldrich, The Baur Family, The Chouinard Family, The Gendreau Family, and Laura and Kyle Juszczyszyn.

“Coming together for a night of music, fun, and friendship is a great way to bring awareness to a growing need and support those experiencing hunger,” said Ray Auger, co-organizer of Party for The Pantry. “The Franklin Food Pantry positively impacts thousands of lives, and we love giving back to this organization that assists so many.”

Independent fundraising events are an essential operating revenue source for The Pantry.  Funds raised allow The Pantry to purchase food and personal care items, offer programs and services, and support daily operations.

“We are extremely grateful to Ray Auger and Bill Donovan for organizing this year’s amazing Party for The Pantry, and the event sponsors, raffle donors, and attendees for their generosity and support,” said Tina Powderly, Executive Director, Franklin Food Pantry. "The proceeds from this year's Party for The Pantry will go directly to feeding people, make a difference in the fight against food insecurity, and help strengthen our community."

Franklin Food Pantry: Coronavirus Update - March 16, 2020

"We want to thank our community for the amazing show of support that they have shown us over the past few days. We're so grateful for your donations to help us to continue to serve our neighbors through this crisis.
The Coronavirus poses an even bigger health threat to our community's most vulnerable populations - low-income individuals and senior citizens - who can't afford to miss work or an extra trip to the grocery store. With schools closed and many people out of work, we expect to see an increased need for our services. If you haven't had an opportunity and are able to donate, we'd appreciate your help. You can easily donate online. Thank you again for your support.

While our doors will still be open to all who need us, we are making some changes to ensure safety among our guests. We are limiting those who enter The Pantry. Effective immediately we are suspending our volunteer hours and will have less staff working. We will offer no shopping within The Pantry.
Instead, we ask that our neighbors keep their appointments and drive up to The Pantry and a staff member will bring prepackaged bags to their car or through walk up services. We will offer the prepackaged bags through April 6 and will reevaluate the situation then.

We are working closely with town officials and school administration to get the word out to the community that we are here for those that need us and also to discuss programs, such as the weekend backpack program, that are impacted by school closures. We will keep the community updated as plans are finalized.
In addition we also will be postponing two of our large Spring fundraising events: The Party for The Pantry and Empty Bowls. We know many of you look forward to these events and we will keep you updated when we are able to reschedule them. Thank you to our Sponsors for their support.
Please follow us on Facebook for regular updates.

Fifth Annual Party For The Pantry to take Place April 4

Join the Event of the Season and
Raise Money for the Franklin Food Pantry

On April 4, 2020 local musicians will band together to raise money for the Franklin Food Pantry at the 5th Annual Party for the Pantry. The event runs from 7:00 am -12:00 am at THE BLACK BOX in Franklin, MA.

The Party for the Pantry is a fun night of live music from local bands, dancing, raffles, auctions and community giving. Co-organizer Bill Donovan explains why he and co-organizer Ray Auger decided to start this annual event five years ago. “The Franklin Food Pantry does not receive funds from the state or town. They rely ultimately on us, the community, to help keep the shelves full.”

“We are looking for raffle items donated by local businesses and individuals this year for our regular raffle, “Super Raffle” and silent auction. A bulk of the money raised comes directly from the raffles so we appreciate all who donate,” explains Raffle Coordinator Deirdre Donovan. If you are interested in donating please contact Deirdre at deirdredonovan@verizon.net,

The night’s musical lineup includes live performances by We’re Going Streaking, Karate Show and South Street Six, and more to be added. All musicians have ties to the Greater Franklin area and donate their time and talents for the cause. Tickets go on sale March 1 and can be purchased at: http://bit.ly/party4pantrytics20.

The Fifth Annual Party For The Pantry cannot be made possible without the generous sponsorships of our community. As of February 25, this year’s sponsors include: B Luxe Salon, Charon Tree Service, Dean Bank, Envoy Mortgage Company, Franklin Matters, Nerds To Go and Tranquil Souls Yoga. If you would like to sponsor this event please contact Kim Cooper at: kcooper@franklinfoodpantry.org or visit: http://bit.ly/partyforpantry20.

“We are so grateful to Bill and Ray for organizing this event every year to help raise funds for The Pantry,” said Lynn Calling Executive Director for The Franklin Food Pantry. “The Franklin Food Pantry serves over 1,100 of our Franklin area neighbors and we rely on financial and food donations to help provide them with the healthy fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy and canned goods they need to help them with their food insecurity. The money raised from this event will go a long way toward helping our neighbors. We look forward to a great night of music and community!”
