it is another option to recycle, folks can still use the other non-profit recyclers. The other benefit we can get is removing it from the waste stream and our recycle contamination rates.

it makes it easier for folks to help us remove from the waste stream, for those who want to call or deliver themselves to the other non-profits, they can do so. For those who wouldn't use it should help remove these items from the waste stream which will also save us.

it is a weekly program,  bags will be coming via mail.

everything can go in the same bag for convenience

Tree Removal Update
(presentation doc to be added)

The drought a couple of year ago and the gypsy moth (2 years in a row) both helped to reduce the health of the trees in our area

trees covered in only the 'public right of way', does not cover trees on Town property or school property

trees overhanging a sidewalk can be addressed because they are blocking a public way
Bushes on a corner blocking the sight line are part of the building inspector role (not tree warden)

what is a public way? not only where the road is, depending upon when the development was built it is either clear or tricky. Partridge St was built along stone walls and private property.  If tree grows in the berm between the curb and the sidewalk it is town owned; if on the other side of the sidewalk closer to the residence, it is private property

FPAC presents Yasmina Reza’s ART - Sep 20-22

The Franklin Performing Arts Company will open its 29th season this weekend with Yasmina Reza’s award winning comedy Art at THE BLACK BOX in Franklin.

Serge has bought a modern painting for a huge sum of money. Marc hates it and cannot believe that a friend of his could possibly want such a work. Yvan attempts, unsuccessfully, to placate both sides. If your friendship is based on tacit mutual agreement, what happens when one person does something completely different and unexpected? Art directed by Nick Paone runs September 20-22 at THE BLACK BOX.

The production stars Greg Leach, Joe C. Burke, and Michael Baratta. Leach, playing Marc, is a frequent FPAC performer most recently seen in Seussical (Mr. Mayor). Other FPAC credits include Humbug! (Freddy Mac), Disney’s Newsies (Wiesel, Roosevelt), Noises Off! (Gary Lejeune), Monty Python’s Spamalot (King Arthur), God of Carnage (Michael Novak), Disney’s The Little Mermaid (King Triton), The Crucible (Thomas Putnam), The Odd Couple (Murray), Othello (Lodovico), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Monsieur D’Arque), A Glass Slipper Christmas (King of Hearts), and more. In addition to performing, Greg penned the most recent FPAC holiday panto Neverland’s Ice Age: A Peter Panto.

Joe C. Burke is returning to FPAC in ART as Serge, after a two-year hiatus from the stage. He previously appeared in The Crucible, Little Shop of Horrors, Brigadoon, The Mikado, Plaza Suite, Bye Bye Birdie, and more with FPAC. Joe played the role of Col. Nathan Jessup in A Few Good Men with the Bridgewater Theater Co., and multiple parts in California Suite with the Newton Players, as well as roles with other regional theater companies in Massachusetts over the past two decades.

FPAC presents Yasmina Reza’s ART - Sep 20-22

Rounding out the cast as Yvan, Michael Baratta is returning to FPAC for the third time, appearing last season in Cabaret (Ernst) and You Can’t Take It With You (Mr. Kirby). Many moons ago, he almost committed to life as a professional actor, before leaving the world of the theatre for law school. Before that, he trained at The Juilliard School in New York and spent two summers acting at the Williamstown Theatre Festival; he also studied theatre at Williams College. A Hopkinton resident, he’s been featured in a number of Enter Stage Left Theater productions, including Twelfth Night (Malvolio), Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick), The Glass Menagerie (Tom; EMACT DASH Award nominee, Best Actor), Blithe Spirit (Charles), and Arsenic and Old Lace (Jonathan).

For tickets and more information, visit www.FPAConline.com or call 508-528-3370. THE BLACK BOX is located at 15 W. Central St. in Franklin, MA.

HockomockSports.Com: "Teams of the Decade" Project Announcement

HockomockSports.Com is starting a project to put together a listing of the "Teams of the Decade" covering the Hockomock League from 2010 to 2020. Teams from this year will be eligible to participate. For more details and the entry form:

"There has been a lot of talent in the Hockomock League over the past decade, and we’ve seen first hand the ups and downs that happen throughout each season. Some of my favorite memories from covering high school sports are the moments following state championship games, seeing all of the hard work from the athletes pay off. I’ve always said it takes a perfect storm for teams to win a state title, it’s an incredible achievement.

We are excited to announce a new feature that we will be working on with the goal of publishing by the end of the school year: The HockomockSports Teams of the Decade Project. This website has covered the league for nearly the entire decade, but both Josh and I were freelancing with other publications in the area prior to that. We have covered countless games, interviews hundreds of coaches and athletes, and covered some incredible teams during the last decade and we’re hoping this will be a fun project for all involved.

This is going to be one list, roughly 15-20 teams, with all sports considered. That means we’ll be comparing baseball teams with field hockey teams, football teams with softball teams, lacrosse teams with gymnastics teams, and so on. The only requirements are that the team competed in the Hockomock League and competed between Fall 2010 and Spring 2020 (yes, this school years teams are eligible). Some squads will have state championship trophies, but it isn’t a requirement. There are a lot of great teams that came up short for a variety of reasons. Of course, it’s tough to judge different sports against one another, and there are a lot of factors we’ll be considering as we construct this list."
