shortage of contractors for snow removal, not just a Franklin issue, prevalent around the region and state

exploring options to address the insurance cost for the contractors as one of the real issues 

unable to clear roads within the time frames previously committed

Town has raised the rate, actually paying more than the State rate

last snow storm, we had 8", and 12 contractors; we could get by with some shortcuts as it was cold coming to warm and the warmth helped us. If it was cold to cold, we would have problems meeting requirements

Padula: "It will be a tough sell for the taxpayers with taxes going up"

Cantoreggi: "We talk a lot of pride in what we do, it is a fact of life that we are as good as how we clear the snow"

Rebelo: "We don't have a lot of extra trucks hanging around"

"It will get there but how long it will be to get good will take time"
